Hey folks,

With the current fires in the region does anyone know if there is public transportation (aka buses) serving any or all of the above villages? If the fires are still affecting some of these areas and stretches of the Camino I'm wondering if I can catch a bus to the next "safe" location or if I'll have to rely on taxis. I'm assuming it may be taxis but no harm in asking as they say.

Thanks in advance!

Eilish

I couldn't find any information on Campiello, but Alsa runs a bus from Pola de Allande to Berducedo at around 17:45 (may not be every day), and from Berducedo to Grandas around 18:55.

Thanks for that!

@irishgurrrl I have complete faith that all will be well for you by the time you get to the affected areas. I need an emoji to give you a hug (( ))

Very sweet of you to give me a virtual hug. Didn't need one but thanks anyway!. :)

I'm not that worried about it (from my own perspective) to be honest as I can just go somewhere else if the fires or smoke are still bad when I arrive in Oviedo. People already hiking there don't seem that worried if Instagram is anything to go by. I'm more sad for locals in the area to be honest. It must be very worrying for them and such a shame so much of the area will be fire damaged.

The good news is I have plan B worked out if needs be. The Norte is easy to get to by bus and luckily I already have the guidebook and app.

Main reason for all the posts is I fly there this Saturday coming. I've a crazy busy week of work ahead so just getting the extra info I need while I still had the time to ask :)

Think I'm sorted now (well until I think of something else to ask haha) ;)

There is no bus service through Campiello. The ALSA service runs once a day in the afternoon between Pola de Allande, Berducedo and Grandas de Salime. It misses Saturday if I remember correctly. You can check the times out in Oviedo at the ALSA desk. The site for road closures is usually used for snow, but does not show any closures at present. (Hover over the map for area links) It has a fire risk link so I am wondering if it would show closures for fire too.
If I can find ALSA times online I will add another post.

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.
Checking the ALSA site the bus times are now very different. It looks as though the bus runs in the morning on Saturday, Sunday and Monday; then afternoons Tuesday,Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
The link is here for daily times and can be checked for each day, rather than giving a weekly list which I had found previously. It stops at Tineo, Pola de Allande and Berducedo. Not sure if it starts at oviedo or is a change of bus these days. :)

PS - ignore the 'incorrect petition' at the top of the page - it is because of how I made the link. Entering the details should still work OK.
