Hi All,

I'm walking part of the Camino in May and am finding it difficult to figure out where to fly back to Dublin from! I don't want to run out of time on the walk so was planning on leaving from Belorado - but could go one stage before or after if that's easier.

Has anyone flown back from here before?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

Hi there,
Easiest way back to Dublin is to fly home from Bilbao ( Aer Lingus fly to Dublin on Tuesdays and Thursday's @5.05pm). There is a direct bus from Belorado to Bilbao each morning at 8.45am (PLM Autocares) http://plmautocares.com/
I've done this exact journey home back in May 2015 and will be doing it again later in September when I walk from St Jean PdP to Belorado again.
Hope this helps.
BUEN Camino !

Thank you! I'm hoping to fly home on a Saturday, to give me a little extra space for a rest day or two. I don't suppose you'd know if there was an alternative option?

Also, I'm giving myself 2 weeks (well 12 days of walking) for St Jean PdP to Belorado - in your experience is this enough time? I'm reasonably fit!

Thanks so much in advance!

Hi Laura,
12 days walking is perfect. Just as an exams I've attached an outline of what I'll be walking in September and what I've walked before. The flight home is 5.05pm and Aer Lingus do fly in Saturday .
Hope you can read this.

ST J Pd P to Belorado in 12 days is very doable. I was there a week ago(well we walked Lorca to Burgos) and took a bus from Burgos to Madrid. It should be very easy to get into Burgos from Belorado and then it is 2.5 hours to Madrid. As it turned out I would have preferred the Bilbao route that was suggested above but Madrid might be acheaper flight.

Oh thank you both so much for your responses, that is very helpful!

If you have any super I-wish-I-knew-before-I-went tips please let me know. :)

I think I'm going to like the Camino - it seems like everyone who walks it is super friendly and helpful.

Thanks again!

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

Hi again,

apologies but I gave you the wrong Bus company earlier ! The correct link is :

I've attached the bus times so hopefully you can open it. You will have a great Camino as this first section is particularly lovely. You will be carried along on a wave of pilgrim euphoria !!!! Last time out I arrived in St.Jean , got my first stamp at the Pilgrims office and then headed immediately to Orisson. This time out I plan to overnight in St Jean and drink in the special atmosphere and then have a short walk next day to Refuge Orisson. I loved the great communal meal at Refuge Orisson as it sets you up nicely for the 18kms to Roncesvalles the following day . Be warned though , you need to book Refuge Orisson well in advance.

I'm only to happy to pass on any information I have. The wonderful fellow Peregrinos on this great Forum have been so kind and helpful to me in the past.

Buen Camino agus go n'eiri an bothar leat

Thank you all for all your help! I've booked a flight from Bilboa and will get the 08.45 bus from Belorado there.

Thanks again and am looking forward to making my way along the beautiful route.

Hopefully when I get back I can repay the favour of all your help to others!

I'm sure it will be a great time.
