Santiago, Finisterre, Muxia, Santiago last week of October 2017

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
Hi @Lmairead and welcome to the Forum. The last week of October won't be very busy so you'll be able to find accommodations and food pretty easily (unless certain albergues have closed for the season - but I'm not as familiar with which ones do and which don't on this route). If you already know the towns in which you'd like to stop, you can search apps such as the Wise Pilgrim app to see what accommodations exist, and then search Booking.com to see what's available for your dates.

If you're coming into Santiago first, you can stop by our Pilgrim House welcome center and get a Finisterre/ Muxia credential as well as a small booklet from the SOLPOR association that lists many of the hotels, albergues, and restaurants along the way to Finisterre and Muxía. We're open 11 - 8pm every day except Wednesday and Sunday.

Hope that helps. Enjoy all the planning and Buen Camino. October is usually a beautiful time of year to be in Galicia!

Get a spanish phone number with Airalo. eSim, so no physical SIM card. Easy to use app to add more funds if needed.
Thanks for all those ideas - a bit of research to be done!

Hi Faith
A supplementary question please - is it possible to walk to Finesterre and Muxia and then get bs back to Santiago from Muxia or somewhere else ? Just that we will only have 1 week for this trip ;(

Yes, absolutely! There are buses back from both Finisterre and Muxia to Santiago. When I get back to the computer I can find a schedule, unless another kind member on this thread can do it readily.

One week is a great amount of time; enjoy it all.

Thanks so much for quick response! I'm on a bus now, using iPad for my research :)

Hi Mairead, here is a link for the bus times from Muxia to Santiago:

The hotel we stayed in in Finisterre was very convenient for getting on the route to Muxia next day, with a an 'always-open' pharmacy down the road a little bit.

See our itinerary attached.

Give me a shout if you have any other queries!
Warm regards

John

Hello Mairead,

My brother and I will be doing this walk commencing on the 10th November.

Due to medical reasons, we will stay in private accommodation where possible.

Are you intending to stay in Albergues or private? I have some hotels in mind, but appreciate any recommendations you may have.

Enjoy your Camino.

Regards from Newtownards Co. Down.

Terence.

Hi Terence

In my earlier post I attached a .pdf document of our itinerary which also lists accommodation in which my wife and I stayed - all private accommodation. All places were really nice and I would recommend all of them. They can also be booked on booking.com. I have attached it here again for your convenience. If you just copy and paste the names of the places from the PDF into your browser/booking.com search engine you can have a look at availability.

Good luck

John :)
