Music You Can Hum Along The Trail

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
I generally sing "White coral bells' when alone in the forest to keep my spirits up and warn any lurking bears of my approach.

I like this version of "Take on me' is great! Very uplifting.

Yes I sing in the forest also because here in Northern California we have black bears, mountain lions, hunters and the worst thing of all, poison oak. Singing doesn't scare off the poison oak, but it makes me look around and pay more attention to my surroundings so no one will be subjected to my terrible voice. These musicians are quite impressive. It's fun to see classically trained musicians do popular music with such enthusiasm.

I followed a pair of French pelerin singing the "Sound of Music" soundtrack while walking from El Acebo down to Molinaseca. They were having fun and I was an appreciative audience.

Many times I sung "Gracias a la vida" as sung by Mercedes Sosa

As a musical omnivore a good bit of rock will add spring to my step. With this one I flew across the Meseta. Appropriate lyrics too.

This is in my head whenever I think of walking westwards.....Finisterra! And accidentally it also was the music to accompany me in 2013 when I walked the Camino Frances!

I sang most of the way (and played my ukulele in the evenings). People often joined in as they passed me when I was singing "Let it Be" or "Hallelujah." But my personal anthem was the Kate Wolf song "Across the Great Divide," here sung by Nanci Griffith. The opening lyric: "I've been walking in my sleep....."

Well, for children of every age, from 8 to 80, there is a French song. It goes as
"A kilometer on foot, it wears the shoes". Then two, three...you get the idea.
It is a favorite of schoolchildren excursions. It has the repetitive rhythm that goes well with walking.

New Original Camino Gear Designed Especially with The Modern Peregrino In Mind!
Excellent walking songs every one, good show. We should make an El Camino walking songs CD. Here is another one I like, a cover of a song by the Texas band Fastball. The lyrics fit the El Camino even though it is based on another subject.
