Planning on walking the Coastal Portuguese Camino route in April.
Had 1 April as planned arrival date, but it seems this is Easter Sunday! This is probably not a good date to begin. Monday is also a holiday in Germany, so guessing it might be in Portugal too? This pushes me back to arriving 2 April, beginning 3 April. Will the albergues be packed with people walking over spring break?

Reading through other posts, am debating staying in an albergue near the cathedral and walking about 20km the next day. Or, staying near the airport at Oporto Hotel, busing into town to sight-see and then setting off the next day to walk about 20km. Which option sounds better or makes more sense? Are there regular buses going to the cathedral from the airport?

Along the coastal route, are there plentiful albergues or are they only in the towns? Hoping to only walk about 20km per day.

Guide books - Would you recommend the yellow book by Joos or the Brierly book. (I read German and I liked the Joos book for my Frances Camino 2 years ago) How important is it to have the latest updated version?

After reaching Santiago, will either take train or bus back to Porto to fly home to Frankfurt. Any recommendations which is better, train or bus?

Did about 400 km of the Frances 2 years ago and will go back there in Sept. 2018, but want to do the Portuguese first with my adult daughter. Looking forward to beautiful sunrises and sunsets.

She is vegan, so imagining this is going to be a bit of a problem for her after reading the FB pages for this route.

Thanks!

The weeks before and after Easter will see more people, but if you plan ahead, book ahead, there really is no reason not to be out walking then, including arriving in Porto on Easter Sunday.

Regarding guidebooks, Imised the 2016, just released then, Brierleynguide and it did the job. If you want, get both, and add info from into into the other by hand, and voila. For example, in one city, only a german guide had this particular hostal listed. That is the type of info you could ad.

Hello !!! We are looking on doing the Camino Francés from SJPP to SANTIAGO next year. Can you tell me if begging of April is too cold to start ???? We think it would take us about 35 days to make it to Santiago.
THANKS IN ADVANCE for your help

There can be snow in the Pyrenees, and higher elevations may be cool/cold. Rain is likely. Overall, the crowds are acceptable as is the weather.
Thanks falcon269

I would like to walk the river route in Tui next month. I can see on google maps exactly where it starts, but it seems a bit overgrown. Has anybody used this route this year or last year...
Hello, my friend of 50+ years and I are on our first Camino walk. We are looking for: 1) safe, comfortable hostels in Lisbon; 2) stages from Lisbon to Porto (via Tomar) in about 16 days...
Hi I have searched everywhere to see if there is a luggage service from Lisbon to Porto. I know there is from Porto to Santiago, but Lisbon ???. Thanks for any info.
