Time of past OR future Camino
A few and hopefully lots more.
Today is the day!

'Offering to the Storm', Dolores Redondo's third Baztán Trilogy novel is now available in English, in both paper and kindle format. The trilogy is set in the Baztán Valley, very familiar territory to those of us who have walked this Camino, but it also has many references to Camino Francés locations.

I'm not normally a fan of crime novels or thrillers, but I'm completely hooked on these novels. Can't wait to read no.3!

It came on to my Kindle at 00:05 this morning. I'm particularly busy these few days and I will have to defer the pleasure.......but no further than tomorrow!

Never heard of these, but look forward to looking them up. Perhaps a good tablet read for a future Camino.

A selection of Camino Jewellery
Neither have I. Off to check this out.

These books are a big sensation in Spain, but there's quite a time lapse between the Spanish publications and their English translations. This article (although somewhat out of date) gives a quick overview, with comments on the impact of their success on the valley and on the town of Elizondo in particular. A movie version of the first novel (The Invisible Guardian) was released earlier this year and no doubt influenced the surge in tourist numbers that we saw on our 5 peregrinas walk in May. In spite of what that article says, I saw very little tourist activity when I was there in 2016.

First one is on Netflix !!

It is - I watched it a while ago and hated it! I was so disappointed with how the characters were portrayed. I didn't mind the liberties they took with the plot, but the characters were so different to how I perceived them in the text.

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
I'll have to watch the Netflix version. Very interested in seeing what it looks like. Elizondo Olive Oil from Costco is a must buy at our house, solely because Elizondo is such an important town in the books!

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.
