I'm in Turin/Torino and looking for the place to start the Camino from here. There are so many large churches, don't know where to start looking... thought I'd ask here first.
Thanks much!

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
Thx much... I'M drilling into the site.

Hi Stacey - you don't say where your destination is - Rome or Santiago ? - if you are heading to Santiago it seems you need to follow the Via Domitia - there is some good information here http://pilgrimagepublications.com/pp_2014/via-domitia/
I have not walked this route but other pilgrims here who have may be able to advise you better than I.
Hope you find your way - Buen camino

Just noticed this post is in the Piemont forum - so above probably not appropriate

Thanks for the info. I am going west and have the French 'Frando' publication on La Via Domitia but it doesn't start til I get to the French border. Locals have told me that the best thing to do is take the train to Susa, and the route will be better marked there. Got my first stamp at the Torino Duomo, though. Met my first pilgrim, but she was going towards Rome.

Always good to get that first stamp:) If you zoom into the map on the link I listed above it does provide a route out of Turin to follow to Susa. Keep in touch and let us know how you find the way - good luck!

Thanks, David! I saw that the map uou shared has a way out of Turin. Thx so much. I've decided to take the locals advice and go via train to Susa. That way I'll skip the industrial urban walking and make time to walk to a side trip: Abbey Novelsco. Hopefully they will have a bunk for me. I will try calling one (or two) last time(s) tomorrow before I depart. Also, I am relying on WiFi and am afraid I might not be able to access your map without WiFi. I looked for a way to download directions to my phone (like I can on regular Google maps) but could't find it. Suggestions?

Stacey - I cannot find an app for the Via Domitia but you can download an e-book of their guide book which covers the route to Arles - here http://pilgrimagepublications.com/p...t-guide-to-the-via-domitia-arles-to-vercelli/
It states
"The entire distance has been GPS traced and very detailed instructions and maps provided for each section of approximately 18 kilometres. Accommodation is listed for the entire length of each section letting you decide where to stop."

It costs just over 10 euro

Alternatively if you go to the map in the original link, click the share icon at the top and click “embed on my site” it will bring up a google map of the route and if you click the three vertical dots in the top menu you will be able to download a KML file of the route to use with your offline google maps
