Sellos and rest day in the last 100 km?

Greetings dear friends...

I have this burning question once again that I want to ask my wise and more traveled friends.

As I understand it we need 2 stamps per day in our pilgrim passport in the last 100 km to get our Compostela.
What do you do when you rest over in a town for another day?

You could call into every bar in town and ask for a sello!

Seriously though, it probably isn't a big deal on a rest day. That requirement tries to ensure that pilgrims walk the 100kms, rather than taking transport, It normally means getting a stamp where you sleep each night and at intermediate points along the way. In the unlikely event of your credential being questioned, you can simply explain that you were resting.

The 2 stamps/day rule isn't intended to turn the Camino into a race, it's intended to at least try and weed out the cheats who try and obtain the foot pilgrimage certificates under false pretenses and for uncatholic reasons.

Honestly, if I were in that situation, I'd simply ask for a second stamp after the arrival stamp on the morning of departure after the rest. Thus proving one's stay there for a whole day.

Hold on!! We are almost in Padron a day away from Santiago and have walked every bit of the Camino since Porto but only got one sello per day. We have walked the Frances twice and cycled the Norte. This rule is news to me. Is it true that we won’t receive our Compostelas this time?!!

That could be the case , sorry .
The rules are at least 2sellos every day for the last 100km.

I left nothing to chance and collected 3 sellos per day from Sarria to Santiago. Bars and trail side stalls made it easy.

I recently completed the C. Frances from SJPDP in 18 days. I wasn't aware of the "2 sellos/day" rule in the last 100km until I'd already left Sarria. Up to this point, I was only getting one sello/day at the end of the day wherever I ended up sleeping.

After realizing this, I made sure to get stamped in O Coto, the church in Furelos, and everywhere I stopped to eat/rest.

This was a big worry for me since I'd been going at an aggressive pace but figured, "oh well, nothing I can do about it now."

When I arrived in Santiago there was no issue- I received the Compostella.

I experienced wind, hail, heat, and snow but, really, I had AMAZING weather. Couldn't imagine the heat coming off the streets of Burgos in the summer.

I love the stamps...I got about 2-4 per day from SJPdP to Sarria, then about 4-8 per day from Sarria to Santiago de Compostela. Ended with three credentials and 147 stamps. Great memories of the places I stayed, the churches I visited in which I prayed or meditated, the great meals I had...such great memories!
