Arranging for a Mass to be said at Santiago

Time of past OR future Camino
Cycled SJPP to SDC September 2016
Starting Camino Ingles June 2018
A dear friend will be 100 years old in July.
She is a devout catholic and I wonder if it is possible to arrange for a mass to be said at the Cathedral in Santiago.
Has anyone done this or know how to arrange it?
I expect to finish the Camino Ingles in June, so will be able to arrange then
Mass in person if I find out how?
Many thanks

what a kind gesture! I am sure some of the forum members with links to the pilgrim services in Santiago will guide you to exactly what you want to do. Buen camino.

The Chapter of the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela offers the possibility of celebrating a Mass in the Basilica of the Apostle Saint James. To do so, it is necessary to make a formal request by sending an email to secretario@catedraldesantiago.es specifying the reason for holding the Mass, and making a donation or stipend for the amount of 10€, or the customary amount given in each country:
Titular: SAMI CATEDRAL DE SANTIAGO DE COMPOSTELA
Entidad: SCH
IBAN: ES97 0049 2584 90 2214012533
BIC/SWIFT: BSCHESMMXXX

(Decree for parish fees and offerings)

Last September after the lunchtime Pilgrim mass, we were directed to the sacristy and requested and paid for our Mass intentions with the help of Sr. Maria (of the beautiful voice). She was very helpful and friendly and spoke some English. It's a lovely thing to do for your friend and I hope you manage to do it - better than a card from the Queen on reaching 100.
