Time of past OR future Camino
Mozarabe
Hello!
We just walked from Cordoba to Granada and had a wonderful experience. We did a combination of camping and staying in lodging; cool at night but great daytime temps.
Here's a link to our blog.
My husband did all the route finding so I will upload that info hopefully soon. He used a combo of Spanish national maps and Google.
Happy Camino!

Very light, comfortable and compressible poncho. Specially designed for protection against water for any activity.

Our Atmospheric H30 poncho offers lightness and waterproofness. Easily compressible and made with our Waterproof fabric, its heat-sealed interior seams guarantee its waterproofness. Includes carrying bag.

You have really good pictures on your blog. I'm assuming you were using something better than your phone or a click and shoot camera.

Edit: I didn't mean to imply that it was just the camera. The composition is really good. Great eye.

Thanks very much! These are all with my iPhone. They won't blow up very big but they work well for a blog.
Once I take them I adjust the white balance, sharpen and usually do some cropping too. It's amazing what these little phones can do!
Buen camino!

Down bag (90/10 duvet) of 700 fills with 180 g (6.34 ounces) of filling. Mummy-shaped structure, ideal when you are looking for lightness with great heating performance.

Considering this camino for January or February 2019. What is the temperature and precipitation in those months? I'm hoping the Camino Mozerabe can be a good winter "vacation" for our third camino.
Thanks,

I'm considering doing this next Feb too so would be interested in weather based comments. Also I note that some of the days seem to walk along dry riverbeds. What happens when they are not dry - do you still have to walk that way or is there an alternative (may sound like a stupid question but I'm curious).
Cheers

There are stretches of dry riverbed on the Almeria to Granada section of the `Camino Mozarabe. In the rare case of heavy rain in this very dry region, the Almeria association communicates with pilgrims about the sections of the route which may flood and alternative routes. This can mean following the arrows for bicycle pilgrims along the road. In one case, I heard that a bar owner drove some pilgrims in his car to get them past a flooded section of the way.

This happened in mid-April 2019, during a few days of exceptional weather in Andalusia. The good news is that the Association in this region is very attentive. You're going to hear from them if they anticipate a problem.

Granted, every year may be different but when I was passing there in March they hadn't had a drop of rain since November 2018.

I've just completed the Camino Mozarabe from Almeria. My first Camino was the Camino Frances from SJPDP in October 2021. I don't have a trip report as such. I know people who trip on mushrooms...
