Any experts in using wikiloc.com?

I have used wikiloc.com a lot since I got my GPS for the Camino Olvidado several years ago. I am by no means an expert, but I have been able to find my way around the site, download tracks, etc. But one thing I cannot figure out is how to search within a certain user's list of files. For instance, our very own @caminka has more than 400 tracks loaded on wikiloc. I would like to search for a specific few, but can´t figure out how to do that. All I can see is that I have to scroll through to find the ones I am looking for. Surely there is a more efficient way! Thanks much, Laurie

Well Laurie, I spent a couple of hours last night trying to find a solution, in the end I contacted wikiloc. This is the reply to my question:
Hi, I want to know how to find the Etapas of the Camino Olvidado of the user Enderjace without bringing up all of his other tracks.
Hello Mick,
The search for trails of a single user is currently only possible with .ORG accounts and with your own trails. When you open the trails list on the app you'll see a search field on the navigation bar in these cases.

You can open enderjace's profile and mark all the trails you're interested in as favorites so you can easily find them later:

€2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.
Thanks so much! I am sorry that it was such a time sink, if that were me Iwould be throwing stuff at the walls. I usually give up much sooner.

Looks like an .ORG account is one that you pay for so that you can get added features, but it really seems like it is only for organizations that want to promote their group and their activities (and it costs 120 € a year for starters!). Back to the basic scrolling method, I guess.

Down bag (90/10 duvet) of 700 fills with 180 g (6.34 ounces) of filling. Mummy-shaped structure, ideal when you are looking for lightness with great heating performance.

€149,-
Great tip!!! Thanks so much. It will definitely make it easier to do some searching. Since the main obstacle to my using this tip is my bad memory, having it here on the forum is great.
You gave so much I guess it's time to take some ;)

Laurie, I'm not sure I understand your question. Are you asking whether there is a way to sort the list of a person's trails after you click on the person's name in blue and the list of all their trails come up? Do you know any of the words in the name of the specific trail you are looking for? Sometimes I have had good luck using Google to find a specific Wikiloc trail by putting Wikiloc + person's name + word in the title of the trail into Google's searchbar (not Wikiloc's). You could also try posting on Wikiloc's help forum. Or emailing Wikiloc. The team there has answered numerous questions for me. (On rereading the postings above, it seems like others have suggested that too, and had success with it.)
Another possibility that comes to mind is to search by using the map search feature on Wikiloc. If you know the exact place where a particular uploader's trail begins, and you zoom in (and in and in) on the map, you will see the list of the trails on the left side of the screen (the map being on the right side) getting smaller and smaller. If you picked the right spot, you should see the name of the person you are looking for. If you click on the symbol that looks like an eye beside the trail title, it will make the route appear on the map in orange. Click again and that route will disappear.
For example, if I think caminka has a track that starts in Sete and I type Sete in the search box on the map search page, caminka's name turns up near the bottom of the first page of listings. If it didn't, I could keep zooming in on Sete itself, and the number of trails in the list would get smaller and smaller until eventually caminka would show up (assuming I was zooming in on where the track actually starts).
I hope it works for you,
Elaine

...how to search within a certain user's list of files...
Good news on this topic from last year: For Laurie and others who have been looking for a way to do this, the Wikiloc team must have listened to our wishes! In addition to the extremely useful feature of now being able to search by passing area (see separate post), one of the new set of tools they recently rolled out is the ability to search the tracks of a specific user. First you need to sign up as a premium member ($9). Then you can do a "Specific-user Trail Search". (Regular searches by starting area or keyword are included in the free membership.)

On your computer:
  1. On the main Wikiloc page in the search bar, enter the name of the user you are interested in. Click the green search button.
  2. Click the blue word "users" on the next page to switch from a trail search to a user search.
  3. Click on the green search button on the right side of the user's profile page.
  4. Enter the term you would like to search for in the search box on the new page that opens. This will search for that term in only the tracks uploaded by the user you have selected.
In the phone app:
  1. Open any trail by the user you are interested in.
  2. Tap on the user's name.
  3. Click on the "trails" line (or the number or the arrow)
  4. Enter the term you are searching for in the search box on the new window that opens.
  5. The map that opens up will show only the tracks entered by your selected user.
Happy searching!
