Looking to get to Lisbon for our CP in the early spring. I have had bad experience switching planes when checkin luggage whic we will do with our kits. Looking for advice on alternative airports with train service to lisbon. Travelling from east coast of US.

Could you be more specific about month and departure city? I can see direct flights from NY, Boston and Miami to Lisbon as cheap as 220-230€ (250-260 USD) for March at the moment.

Porto would be alternative airport but for the same price and only from NY.

Philadelphia/ Baltimore/DC would be ideal. Our thought is that a visit to a european city we haven't been to might make the adventure more interesting. Mid March to mid April will work.

€2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.
DC has very scarce direct flights and much more pricey.

Good search engine to get you rough picture of what kind of transportation is available between the cities (because I don't know if you want to visit Athens or Oslo or Madrid ;)) is this one:

Happy planning!

thanks to all. Apprantly the American flight doesn't fly in the winter months and didn't show up in my search until today. Problem solved.
Looking forward to our second Camino

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.
