September 2018 who’s going?

Interesting to read everyones point of origin and start date. A little surprised too discover the date I start walking from St Jean is 9th September and based on my observations will be walking alone. I read that Mid week is more suitable time to start journey as it helps avoid congestion on route but the number 9 has always played a significant role in my life so the date and The Way choose me. Im simply answering the call. Buen Camino Everyone!

Very light, comfortable and compressible poncho. Specially designed for protection against water for any activity.

I’m going to walk the full Francis on my third visit to the Camino from st Jean to Santiago. Will anyone else be walking in September 2018?

Thanks.
Peter
Peter, your the last to confirm what date in September? Based on response to your question looks like they'll be no shortage of walking buddies we're yet to meet along the way. Buen Camino!

Hi, overnight at Bayonne on 6 September. Not sure yet whether to start the next day from SJPdP or spend a night there - first time walking.
Exciting and a bit terrifying! Looking forward to meeting many lovely pilgrims.

The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.

Hi Micht, nothing to be frightened off only fear itself. Embrace the unknown. I decided to book first night in St Jean, 2nd in Orisson and 3rd night in Ross. As your staying in Bayonne I'd book a night in Orisson and if doing so act quickly as fully booked for days I'm traveling but staying in alternative accomodation owned by same owners. I also booked breakfast and meals as not only is their likelihood to meet potential Camino family but eases yourself gently into the journey in measured way. Either way Buen Camino!

I’m not great at pre-booking as I don’t enjoy being locked in, hence my booking of flights eleven days before departure. This is probably a pretty dumb move on my part but hopefully I will be able to get a bed if I arrive midday. I had hoped that accom wouldn’t be at capacity.
Buen Camino

My wife and I are starting from O Cebreiro on October 5. Just to tide us over until our next full Francés in 2020. ;)

Hope to see you along the Way!

My mom and I are hitting the Way on September 24th, but we're only starting in Sarria (we can only get off work for a couple of weeks).

Staying at Orisson on 18Sept.
Hope to see some of you there or Roncesvalles on 19th.
I'm the tall guy in the white hat with the gray goatee.
Otherwise undistinguishable....

I’ll be at Roncevalles on the 19th too so I’ll look out for you. I’ll be strolling up direct from SJPP. So I may not be in the best of shape! Time will tell. See you on the trail.

Hello Peter. I leave from SJPDP on September 12 for Santiago. Staying in Roncevalles the first night. Herb

Hola! I just booked my flight from Geneva to Biarritz for Sept. 13 (next Thursday!) but won't arrive until 8:20PM (without any delays). I'm looking for options to either stay in Biarritz or Bayonne that night or shared transportation to SJPDP as it seems all public transit options will not be available that late in the evening.

Please reach out to me if you'd like to meet up, share a taxi, find a hostel, or just have some advice. I'm hoping to start my camino on the 14th from SJPDP.
Buen Camino a todos!

Franb68, probably more sensible time of month to walk, expect it's cooler and less congested, Buen Camino

Yes I am hoping so. However our main reason for timing was to fit in with the NSW school holidays so missing the crowds is more fortuitous than planned.
Are you both planning walking to Santiago or to the end of world and what kind of timeframe have you scheduled. I plan 1000 Km in 6 weeks

Patty and I are walking a bit of the Camino Francis and then will be volunteering at the Pilgrims Office Between Sept 10th and 24th. If you happen to arrive at the Pilgrims Office then I hope to meet you!! Just ask for Half Dome. Buen Camino to all............... Ed

No not to the end if the world. We both have husbands and kids at home so 3.5 weeks was maximum we could be away. Will start in St Jean but get train from Burgos to Sarria in the middle so we can walk last 100kms. I didn't want to miss the Pyrenees and also wanted to end in Santiago.

Technical backpack for day trips with backpack cover and internal compartment for the hydration bladder. Ideal daypack for excursions where we need a medium capacity backpack. The back with Air Flow System creates large air channels that will keep our back as cool as possible.

Sounds like a lovely way to spend your holidays and well done for taking on the Pyrenees and I wish you both Buen Camino and I'm sure your family will appreciate you more in your absence and you return better than ever

I'm off again monday 10th,Sant-Finn-Muxia,bring it on.

It's a bit of a boring walk out of Leon through industrial landscape, but very nice past that, depending if you walk along the road or turn left and walk through countryside.

No idea yet of route other than getting to Santiago so will figure it out when I arrive!

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

Just a bit,Top of the Hill :)

Good views, once lived in Woodside heights and father from Herbert Street, now been demolished. You walking this year? I'm off on Sunday, first time and looking forward to it. Any advice?

Good advice, especially the 'eat , drink and chat', will have to learn the lingo and expect after few glasses of rioja will be half way there;) I hear you regarding privilege and agree totally.
