Which Camino is most used in fall/winter in France?

Time of past OR future Camino
2018?
Dear all,

I was planning on hiking about 3 weeks on one of the caminos in France, starting in October, but due to illness, I had to postpone. This means I will be hiking from about October 24th 'till mid-november. I have heard a lot of lodgings close after November 1st, and since I am untrained (after being ill), I would like to avoid having to walk at least 25 km a day to find a place to sleep (at least in the first week).

So my question is: is any of the French routes used more than others in winter, or any of them with more lodgings? Which route would you advise in this season? Or is it a no-go?

Heleen

Ideal pocket guides for during & after your Camino. Each weighs only 1.4 oz (40g)!
The Le Puy route will, generally speaking, offer accommodations at least every 15-18 km, when everything is open. The period you are contemplating is problematic, however. Nationwide school holidays are 22 Oct - 2 Nov 2018, and even those places that claim they will be open, will not be, if the owners take off during the holidays to spend time with the grandkids.

Please immediately take your copy of Miam Miam Dodo in hand, draft your itinerary, and send out emails (basic French, Google Translate is your friend). Then you'll know what you have. In addition to lodgings being closed, you are at risk of the transport services being rather unavailable. however, the logistics on the Le Puy route are far more available off season than the other routes, so I think that's your best bet.

Thanks for your advice. I will see what happens when I send emails. I can still travel to the camino frances if it is undoable, so I have a back-up plan I guess..
