ALSA bus no longer going to SJPP?

Dear fellow pilgrims,

I have been trying to check the bus connections from Pamplona to St Jean Pied de Port. I am in particular looking for a late afternoon / evening bus. I did a search on the ALSA website and nothing came up. I emailed ALSA and they said they no longer service this route. I have also done a search on the La Union site and nothing came up either. I emailed them and they haven’t responded. So which bus company still operates buses from Pamplona to SJPP these days?

Thanks All!

In early April 2017 I needed to take a taxi as buses were not yet running for the season between Pamplona and SJPdP. Prior to that I used the services of Istvan while he was still running his albergue outside of Pamplona.

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.
Thank you both! It didn't even occur to me that the bus service on this route is seasonal... I am actually being super organised and am checking the connections for May next year. With that being the beginning of the Camino season, I assume the bus to SJPP will have resumed running by then?

By the way, is it necessary to book ahead to secure a seat on the bus in late May? (I know it is very early to ask this now, but just thought I'd check while we are on this topic...)

Service to SJPP ended last week :

Look for it again in March.

The pdf shows anyway that a bus service to Roncesvalles runs yearly, except Sundays (and I'd guess holidays). http://www.autocaresartieda.com (€4.60 from Pamplona to Roncesvalles)

Finally, the company PLM appears to have a daily 9 AM departure from Pamplona to Arnéguy/Pekotxeta on the border between Roncesvalles and SJPP, seemingly for a €3 fare - https://www.horarios.info/transporte-de-pampelune-espagne-a-arneguy-espagne - from where you could probably even walk to SJPP (7.7 K) if that's absolutely from where you wanted to start.

Also, when the bus service does start back up in the spring, I recall reading that it starts out with just one time daily, so may not always coincide with pilgrims arrival time in Pamplona unless you spend your first night in the city.
