I've been able to book almost all of my stops on the CF in September, but a couple of places don't open till Easter, so I can't communicate with them. I want to make a stop at Eirexe, and the only accommodation seems to be the Pension Eirexe. There are 10 beds in 6 bedrooms, but are there any double rooms? I don't want to wait till Easter to find out there aren't any, as I may as well be finding somewhere else to stay. Thanks.

Down bag (90/10 duvet) of 700 fills with 180 g (6.34 ounces) of filling. Mummy-shaped structure, ideal when you are looking for lightness with great heating performance.

€149,-
I stayed there in May of 2016....the municipal alburgue next door was already full, and I had put in a long day...can't comment on the double, but had an individual bed with my own bathroom (25 Euros?)...clean....seem to remember a bar/restaurant across the street with a good meal....

My husband and I stayed there in May. Had this nice 2-twin bed room, can’t recall if bath was ensuite or a couple of doors down. Nice people there, washer/dryer not working but we could use the facilities next door in the municipal. Food across the road at the bar was very good. We’d stay there again.138E3CEB-9442-4482-9243-7AF59126EA54.jpeg4109C047-1C4C-46DE-A7E9-678F00134783.jpeg

My wife and I stayed in a private room there in Jun 2016. Details are a bit sketchy now, but we were able to get our washing done, ate dinner and breakfast at the bar across the road, and had a good night's sleep. I recall there being a small sitting room, and a pleasant area at the front of the building with seats and cafe tables. It was a nice place to stay.

We stayed there in June last year. Had a twin room with private bathroom. It was OK.

Yep stayed there, it was really nice. Beds not bunks, and a nice bathroom shared between two rooms.
There was another place on the same side of the road, cant comment on that

Hi Bert,

Just to add to the recommendations already mentioned. We were walking on this section on the last few days of our Camino in 2015, and had encountered a large group of German pilgrims (around 250), so this stop gave us a quieter few days into Santiago, as well as being great accommodation. Nice meadow out the back to wash and dry clothes, friendly people, and the bar across the road was great.

I have stayed there twice. The first in a 6 bed room and the second time in a private double room. The private was, of course, great. The lady who runs it is very kind and will even do your wahf or you. Yes, I recommend it.

I also recommend the Pension. My son,two grandsons and I stayed there in 2015. friendly, clean place. We spent a lot of time across at the bar/restaurant so the boys could use the wifi. I think it is owned by the same family. I remember sending an email in Google Spanish to reserve in advance from Australia.

Stopped there during my CF in September 2016. I was in a bedroom with two bunk beds, so can’t comment on single rooms. Clean place, very kind host, great food at the bar across the street. I would stay there again.

Just a side comment: I understand that you’ve booked most of your accommodations on the CF for next September. It’s none of my business, but maybe you’re over planning this? I booked most of my accommodations the night before, 48 hours ahead of time at most. No issue reserving most accommodations. I suggest you give yourself some flexibility to shorten a day because you’ve found a nice little village, because the weather is poor, because you have a nagging blister or shin inflammation, etc. In the end though, this is of course your Camino. Just my 0.02$.

Buen Camino!

I stayed there one night last May (2018), and I remember it as a wonderful room. I had a private room with a single bed, a sink and mirror, and a large closet to spread out all of my stuff. Bathroom was shared and super clean. I wish I could remember the name of the hostess; she was very nice. When Camino

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

I should add that I had to reserve by email (I only pre-booked the morning of because the path past Sarria became super crowded and rooms very competitive).

You could do a lot worse , lovely host , very kind person even if you are not staying there.
Good atmosphere away from the crowds on those balmy nights in the country side.

I wouldn't pre-book if I were travelling alone, but I'm going with my wife, and she wouldn't want to go unless we were sure of accommodation (in pensiones or hostales, not albergues) before we left. Also, we are only walking from Triacastela, so there were not many places I needed to book. The good points you raise are exactly why I don't book ahead when I travel alone. I don't speak Spanish very well, and I understand spoken Spanish even less, so talking on the phone to reserve a room is not a good option. I don't travel with a smartphone or tablet, so emailing is not possible en route. I email and use Google Translate to book from home, though mainly I've used booking.com.
