Yes, I know the various threads discussing the actual crimes were locked. However, I came across this article in La Voz de Galicia today. I thought it would be of interest to Forum members.

Sadly, those were probably adults who did the graffiti. At least adults in the sense of physical age. Mental age? I would put it in the 12-16 year old range.

The graffity " Yo no salí de...…" is now not visible but a stone treatment is required.
The works are carried out by the personnel who is restoring the cathedral.
The place will remain covered to protect it from rain and let the specialists work.
The two graffities on Arch of Xelmirez have not been deleted yet but they are under cover so in this case the rain will be not a problem for the stone.
I think It is not yet clear who is responsible (and put money) in the installation of new cameras around the cathedral: the mayor (City) or the Xunta minister (Camiño de Santiago).

The graffiti made on the stairs of the Cathedral of Santiago a week ago is almost not visible and only the treatment on the stone remains to be finished so that all trace of this aggression is eliminated. The meticulous work of the experts made that, only a few days after some vandals wrote with spray: "I did not leave your rib, you came out of my pussy" on the facade of the Praza do Obradoiro, there is no trace. Daniel Lorenzo, director of the Cathedral Foundation, indicated that the area will be covered to avoid the eyes of the curious , and above all, to protect it in case of rain and to guarantee that the technicians work with tranquility.

The experts consider it essential that the stone be dry and that it remain isolated to prevent the damage that has already occurred to the monument from increasing. Canon Daniel Lorenzo explained that the works are being carried out with the same personnel who are responsible for the interior restoration of the cathedral: "It is necessary to combine the work with the resources we have." In the Obradoiro they will not continue working until Wednesday, when the day is Tuesday, but there are only a few details left to protect the stone..."

As such, it was an opinion. I will NOT apologize for this. It was not offensive, IMHO.

I defer to the moderators. If they tell me to edit I will. But, I do not believe that I have violated the Forum Rules. If I did, the moderators or Ivar will so advise me.

Violation of the rules is one thing. Censorship by peer pressure is both pernicious and insidious. I reject it categorically.

We all agree that the graffiti is bad. And information is good to get (thank you).

PM space is the place to duke it out over trivialities and opinions, if you must.
But before you do that maybe ask yourself, why? Why do I want to argue over something unimportant?
