Can Forum members help Fecepa via Go Fund Me?

€2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.
Just an idea... I have no time to set up something, nor the insight. But hopefully some can..
@alexwalker, thanks for trying to set this up. I will be glad to contribute if someone can take it on. Meantime, let's focus on positive energy and discovery of where the blinking money is!

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.
The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.
The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.
I have set up a GoFundMe page, but I am concerned about a few things.
1- I have set it up on behalf of the community in this forum, hope this is ok with every one.
2- Will Fecepa hang around long enough to receive the donations?
3- I emailed fecepa at 8:30 am Los Angeles time, and asked for more info, he/she has not responded yet.
4- Will this open up an opportunity for individuals to fake emergencies on the Camino?
5- Will this be ok with the moderator?
6- This is my first GoFundMe attempt and still don't know how this campaign will wrap up and how long it would take, so please be friendly.
Please chime in.

I am willing to donate, but I appreciate your concerns. I think we need to talk to Fecapa, see how/she is doing.

Surely, if anyone has the misfortune to suffer such a monetary loss on the Camino he/she will be able to call on family and/or friends to help out? In extreme cases I expect that one's country's embassy in Madrid will be able to assist.
