Found out some info thought you guys might want . Moderators feel free to move this thread if needed.
Below is the note posted at the church located next to the train station on where to get your credential or first stamp (sello) hours listed 2nd picture the hours of the tourist office located in the center of town . 3rd picture albergue list from the tourist office 4th picture Location of the church and train station to the left of the church and 5th picture location of camino arrow just up from the church located on the sidewalk video also attached showing same intersection . Bear in mind the arrows are few so keep your eyes peeled and use your wise pilgrim or other offline map make sure you download the map before you go. The video also shows the way to the tourist office across the little city bridge following the main road to the center of town. The Hendaye bridge is located down the main road then you will turn left at some point follow the signs for hotel alcazar or for the stadium this will lead you directly to the bridge if you wish to start in Hendaye . It’s about an15 minute walk. Hope this helps !

This info is great however I am a bit confused. The hours posted, are those winter hours and months? It mentions nothing about July or am I not reading it right? Also the first post shows hours from 9:00 to 12:30 - is that it? My train arrives in July at 12:55, does this mean it will be closed when I arrive?

Hope you're still trekking along.

The first picture is the church schedule ... the church is just outside the Irun train station. The second picture is the tourist office. So seems the church will be closed but you can get a stamp at the tourist office if it’s open that day. That’s where I got mine and one at my hotel also. You can get a stamp at any bar or restaurant most likely so don’t worry about the stamp. If you need a credential I suggest that you can order it from the forum store.. that’s how I got mine. I just had a physio visit in San Vincente la baquera an hour ago she suggested that I stop walking because of the heel spur she said the inflammation is bad and likely to get worse. It’s a lot of concrete... not sure what I will do yet I have 3 weeks left 🤷‍♀️🥺

Thank you. Yes I need a credential. I will most likely order two maybe three as I plan on continuing on to Finisterre then possibly bus to Ferrol to do the Ingles. God willing of course.

🥺 I am so sorry to hear about your condition. So no possibility of resting then being able to walk on? Did you not take any alternative routes taking you off the road? If you absolutely can't walk on perhaps you can bus or train to Santiago, stay at the san martin reservas@sanmartinpinario.eu. across from the cathedral. They offer pilgrims rooms for 23euro per night which includes your own private room with a bathroom and shower and all you can eat breakfast. It's a very good breakfast. You could stay there for a few days, then maybe go to a nice coastal town to relax even more.

Well I had the spur when I left home hoping it would not come to this. Prior to Bilbao there are some forest and off road paths and I did some alternatives. no it won’t get better unfortunately and I can’t do the distance with this foot. I had 2 plasma injections before leaving home so after 300 km I can accept the inevitable no worries. I might continue by bus to each stage. Not sure yet I think about it tomorrow. Thanks for the recommendation I might consider going early and do some volunteer time. I have reservations xavestre-apartamentos- on 14 May but I can change or cancel it’s a little bit more but it’s away from the cathedral in a quiet corner. Last year I stayed at albergue just 20o meters from the cathedral and it was quite loud. I will consider all options ... your options looks good too so I could book in earlier at the place you suggest and also take a visit to muxia .. I loved it there last year.. we shall see, tomorrow is thinking day 😊 I’m definately learning to listen better when my feet start yelling it’s a sign that maybe it’s good to stop 😁

Yes, the most important thing is to listen to your body, this is what a wise pilgrim does. Enjoy your down time as you continue one way or the other. Seems you have some thinking to do. Just know your adventure continues. God Bless.

Thank you so much. I was able to modify my booking in the xasvestre apartments this place has a kitchen and washer.. I added 2 extra days other than that it was booked also. The place you suggested was already booked but thanks for the suggestion. I will wander about like a tourist bussing thru some stages lol. If you need any info on the route feel free to ask

Iriebabel, have missed a lot, sorry to see you have to stop. Well done, you are truly an inspiration. i may have missed this if it was suggested earlier, but the Last Stamp is a fine albergue, and very near the Cathedral. When we stayed there, booking for 3 nights got us a good deal. If you book for more, then i would imagine you might get a better one. they have a great kitchen, lockers, and they are two minutes walk from Casa Manolo where you can find inexpensive meals and lots of pilgrims. Someone else has mentioned the Seminario on the way down to the Cathedral. breakfast is available to non resident pilgrims, and it is buffet, it was €5 about six years ago.

Hope you can manage but i will be surprised if you can’t...

Yes thanks. Im ok with stopping After I saw Santo Toribio. There is always next year I pick a route with less cincrete😂. I’m familiar with the albergue last stamp is right next to Praza do Obradoiro. I stayed in the Azabache just below that .. they have 4 person per room bunks nice place but I want to sleep outside the noise. Close enough to visit in day far enough to sleep at night🤣 and I’m next to the supermarket. Had a friend stayed st the Monestary last year she wAlked with me and said the private rooms were nice. I’m in Santiago 12-16 May that’s good enough. I may book in muxia also.

As I imagined, you are a pro with coping with the unexpected. And you will make the most of it. Mind yourself, let the heel heal...

Yes I learned to adapt rather quickly and look to the positive. Everything happens for a reason and I use to question everything now I learn to listen when the lord and the universe is talking. The true reason will reveal itself eventually, thanks for the kind words my journey is not over ...I’m a tourigino now and I Don’t need the Compostela the experience is enough.
