Just dont get the idea of having an app for the camino. I have the Wise Pilgrim but only because it came free with the printed guide. Last year, the first time I ever had anything, I never looked at it once. In fact, I left the printed guide at home as I did not like it. The only thing I use the app for is, while sitting at home wishing I was in Spain, I browse through it and imagine where I would like to be walking tomorrow instead of watching the rain fall in Ireland. I am so suffering withdrawal symptoms at the minute

Being on the Camino right now would be a lot like what you are found: watching rain fall! Only you’d be in it and wet....

I can understand your feelings of longing and wanting to return. I do my 5th Camino starting on October 29th and cant wait. I walked the Norte last year and I agree that the Wise Pilgrim book can be a little cumbersome. My daughters as a going away gift gave me the Wise Pilgrim app and the Buen Camino app. About $5.00US each for the complete apps. It shows you have just walked on the Camino Frances which have more services and albergues in the first 200K then some of the other Caminos have in totality. I have walked the Norte and Le Puy Caminos and I know this is also true for the Primitivo and the VDLP to name a few that there are many towns without albergues or any services at all. Especially in France for me on Le Puy. It definitely helps to know where there are grocery stores, and places to sleep that are open (When you are not walking in high season) to plan your day and you never know what will happen to your body from one minute to the next. When I walked in France I had to walk more than a few 30+ kilometer days because there was no place to sleep and sometimes no bars or stores to eat or buy food. The app sure came in handy for me. If you haven't waked these Caminos I would recommend them. They are really beautiful. If you like peace and quiet and beautiful landscapes I would highly recommend them. I would say it is a little different type of Pilgrim on these Caminos. Most, like myself tend to walk alone alot. You still meet great people and have fun and interesting times in the evening. But not much of the Camino family feel. It is all what you look for and need, I guess.
