Riding a bike from Muxia to Porto

Hey All

Hey all I am wondering what the ride is like on a bike from Muxia via Finisterre to Porto is like please? Do they have a separate path to walkers or do you share the path?

Is the roads hilly or very hilly in places? many flat riding days?

Is there much accommodation on this trail?

Do you get a compastella / certificate in Porto?

I am planning on riding from St Jean to Santiago de Compastela but now i am hoping as a add on if i feel up to it from Santiago to Muxia to Porto. But my main goal is to do the Way of St James to Santiago from St Jean to Fisterre to Muxia

Is there much vegetarian foods to eat ?

is there any monastery stays?

Is there many auberges?

Where is the most historical sites?

Most Scenic Sites?

Any especially Celtic historical sites as I know they were in Galicia

I don't know about Santiago to Porto, not walked that yet. Muxia to Finisterre is fine. But on the way Finisterre to Santiago, just after the town of Cee, is a really really steep hill that you will have to push your bike up. It is not long in distance, maybe a kilometre or so, but boy it is steep. Luckily it is on a good track. Doable, but hard work!

Loads of accommodation Muxia to Santiago. Lots of places for the wife to park the camper (some really good campsites even).

Nope, no compostella for arriving in Porto. Only Santiago. Though you can get similar certificates in Muxia and Finisterre.

hey Davey thanks mate as always much appreciated That hill out of cee is like day 1 from st jean or worse? and how long is the climb from st jean to roncasvelles?

Reminds me of a trek i did and the hill with 55lb on my back (when it was good in 2006) was the chilkoot pass

Cee to Hospital is starting at sea level and ending at about 400m above. It is several km not just one for that climb. I don't remember the details of the "beginning" very good since I always went the opposite direction. Seeing Cee enlightens the body, cause it offers many places to rest.

With a bicycle I would recommend to see Ézaro waterfall (cascada de Ézaro). Here you really have a challenge with a bicycle. The 2km road to the mirador is 15% medium, sometimes 30%. You can compare to other cyclists from Vuelta de Espana, as there are stones with incline and time all along. I just went to the mirador, but the road continues to Hospital. Hopefully then much easier.

Thanks for your help Pilger i heard it was a steep climb and i want to take it easy thanks for recommendations in seeing ezaro waterfall i have trekked up a 40% hill on the chilkoot trail but with 55lb on my back but now my back is no where near as stong.

The "waterfall" / cascade just goes into the sea. No problem to see it from below. The challenge is the road to the mirador. Youtube has a lot of clips.
I was told that during summer the water amount is regulated and the water runs only a couple of hours per day. In early November I had plenty.
