Hello fellow Le Puy-ers,

I am contemplating, for the sake of cost, bussing from Paris CDG, to Lyon instead of the train. But I loooove taking trains in Europe. Anyone done a bus ride from Paris to Lyon?

Merci.

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

I am like one of Pavlov's dogs salivating at the ring of a bell when it comes to buses. The mere mention of a bus ride brings a kneejerk shiver of distaste from how uncomfortable and cramped I get sitting on a bus. Even European buses. Trains, OK. Planes, OK. Mule, OK. Bus, arrrrgh. :) All I thought about was how much recovery I would need after I stumbled off of the bus. 🤔

So much for anything really relevant to the actual information you need. Sorry :)

No, I get it. Every single time I get on a bus, I either get nauseous or toss my cookies. I’m also considering the length of the ride and it’s an 8+ hour ride with about an 11pm arrival. I just may go on Le train.

Erm.... 2 hours by train, as opposed to 8 hours by bus?? (ha ha just saw your post come in as I was writing, seems you have the same info)

I definitely think it's worth the extra expense for the train. If you are really on a tight budget, however, I would not recommend Flixbus. They seem to be taking over the European bus network at the moment, using the same model as budget airlines. But their service is really shocking. I used them twice last month, and had two very regrettable experiences. Ouibus seems to have a much better track record.
