QUESTION: Any Great CP Coastal Route Suggestions (accommodations, food, sites, etc.)?

Hi! I will be walking the CP Coastal route from Porto to SdeC starting Sep.6/18. I have previous walked both the CP Central route and the CF. I have 2 Apps on my phone for maps and accommodations but I am curious to get recommendations. Please feel free to post names of any highly recommended accommodations (alburgues, hostels or hotels - I use them all depending on what is available and how I feel that day), restaurants, sites, best beaches, etc. I don't need an itinerary, just interested in suggestions for specific things people really liked. Thanks.

Buen Camino!

Hola

I couple of years ago I walked from Porto to Santiago along the coast including the Variante Espiritual and then out to Finistera.
There were some longer days with high kilometers, but it was an excellent 2 week walk with some days to spare.
Did you have some question to ask?

Great resources shared already! Keep them coming! We start September 19 from
Porto.

Hi Rod: My best piece of advice I can give you is not about accommodation, but footwear. Use trail runners not hiking boots. The CP Coastal route has a lot of hard surface walking and you don't need boots. Boots on the Camino France were ok but not at all necessary for CP from Porto to SdC unless you expect a lot of rain. Your feet will thank you. Have fun.

Very light, comfortable and compressible poncho. Specially designed for protection against water for any activity.

Our Atmospheric H30 poncho offers lightness and waterproofness. Easily compressible and made with our Waterproof fabric, its heat-sealed interior seams guarantee its waterproofness. Includes carrying bag.

Took your advice and bought a new pair up high tech, very lightweight trail runners that were on sale from Columbia. I noticed that they were on sale at the Columbia online store, but since there’s a Columbia outlet west of Toronto that I pass by regularly, I was able to try a pair on and save even more $$ than the online sale. Now to get them broken in by September! They are Columbia Montrail Rogue. Thanks for this advice!

Just curious, @Rod Murray, how long did it take for you to break in these shoes? Were/are they trail runners? I'm looking for out-of-the box comfort - I'm spoiled by Salomons & HOKAs ;-)

Worn them maybe 4 times on 3-5 km walks and they feel great! Tried different socks in them each time to see which pair will give the most comfortable walking. All seem good! I’m set to go in 3 weeks! Yes- Columbia Montrail FKT Rogue

They make a number of different models. I was able to test a few out in the store and went with these.
