A Coruna compostela question

Time of past OR future Camino
2018
In Sept 2018 I walked the Camino Frances St Jean to Santiago, then to Muxia and finishing in Finisterre. My older sister wanted to meet me in Santiago but was skiddish traveling by her self to meet me. I told her down the road I would go with her and do it again or some version of it so she can experience it. So I came across the Camino Ingles and mentioned it and she said she wanted to do it. Time will be tight and I noticed that if we start in A Coruna that it is possible to still obtain a compestella in Santiago if you have documentation of walking 25 KM as part of the pilgrimage prior to starting in A Coruna. My question is being in the USA, there is no comparable pilgrimage walks in the Midwest, so does anyone know if a letter from my wife's pastor documenting 25 KM would suffice. I am not sure if this is something she wants to do. I was just looking at options to present to her.

Thanks,

Dave

Get a spanish phone number with Airalo. eSim, so no physical SIM card. Easy to use app to add more funds if needed.
I’m sure someone will be along shortly with a definitive answer - but I would think that pretty much anything which looks ‘official’ - especially if it has a stamp on it with any kind of religious connection - would be fine.

I spent the night in Coruna then took an early bus to Ferrol and started from there. That was before the entirely sensible change which allows a start from Corina to merit a Compostela.

Best wishes

Thanks, like I said my sister may just want to start in Ferrol, but I thought it may be something we can discuss.

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.
I had a local priest write a letter for my travel companion and I, based on the sample text for a Pilgrim's recommendation letter in Sybille Yate's book Pilgrim Tips and Packing List. We also brought maps that showed the mileage (kilometerage?) we had walked in the US. We first got stamps/cellos for this 25K in our Credencials from local Illinois churches, libraries and Post Offices, then continued on to Spain for the rest. We didn't have any problems getting our Compostelas in Santiago.

So could one assume then, if you have just rec’d a compostela from another Camino, that those last 25km could be applied to the Ingles if starting in A Coruna? Is there a time frame in which those previously walked miles must be applied?

No. As I understand it the 25 kms have to come from somewhere else - your home country, or another country.
If I am wrong someone please correct me.

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

In the wintertime I went to the official presentation of Camino Ingles led by lady from from A Coruna. According to her you can earn the compostela if you have walked the remaining 25 km in your home country first and collected stamps in your credencial to prove it.

Presentation of Ingles from A Coruna was so good that when it was finished I was already planning my next Camino. I believe that route is brilliant.

A small correction: At the moment in the UK only the Pilgrims Way that is Winchester or London to Canterbury, the Way of Saint Andrew and Saint Michael Way that is Lelant to Marazion have pilgrim passports and stamps which would provide proof for the Pilgrim Office in Santiago. You can also collect your stamps walking St James's Way from Reading to Southampton.

Down bag (90/10 duvet) of 700 fills with 180 g (6.34 ounces) of filling. Mummy-shaped structure, ideal when you are looking for lightness with great heating performance.

Hi Dave,
This May I walked for 2 weeks from Porto- Santiago ...easy peasy..received my compestella..then I took a train to O Coruna and later a bus to Ferrol for around €15. I stayed overnight and set off the next day at the 112 KLM mojone near the cafe in town. I walked south for the next 6 days, taking it nice and easy. It usually takes 5 days. I met some wonderful pilgrims....followed my wise pilgrim app and the yellow arrows and sauntered into Santiago again. It is great to start in Ferrol ....Truly a wonderful walk. My 5 th Camino....
Love
