Hi

I am considering walking from Leon to Sarria starting mid October . Any insight into what weather to expect would be welcome. Am I likely to encounter snow in the mountains ?
Thx

I walked starting Leon mid October last year and it was cold in the morning but very hot by mid-day. There was snow in the mountains, but it was incredibly beautiful. Buen Camino!

Autumn, unpredictable and variable. :)
Anyway, snow in Spain does not usually appear until late November.

Last year I walked through snow flurries on that stretch between Montes de Oca and San Juan de Ortega then woke up to snow the following morning on October 31st in Atapuerca. It snowed all the way down then the sun came out in Burgos!

In previous years I've cleared both Foncebadón and O Cebreiro in the winter without snow.

As a side point, but very important to know, mos albergues close around October 15th or 31st. Use the following website to get I information on those open in the winter. It is active as of November1st.www.aprinca.com/alberguesinvierno/
