Albergue guest book missing - Cubo de Tierra del Vino

Filiberto, the owner-hospitalero of the Torre de Sabre albergue in Cubo de Tierra del Vino reported on 8/Aug that the ‘Libro de Honor’ is missing from his albergue. This is the guest book in which pilgrims write messages of thanks or reflections on the Camino and sometimes a poem or a sketch To thank Filiberto and his wife.

The guest book is decorated with some flare because Filiberto has a romantic attachment to the Camino. He himself has done the pilgrimage on horseback and written a guidebook for other equestrian pilgrims. So ... As you can imagine, he was sad to find that the guest book has disappeared.

The book has no monetary value but it is a cherished item. Filiberto is very politely asking for it to be returned to the albergue. No drama. No recriminations. He just wants the person in possession of the book to send it back.

Theres a chance that someone on the Camino might see this book in the possession of another pilgrim. If so, please persuade them to return it.

How pathetically sad, that someone would even think of walking off with this, let alone doing that.

I hope whomever took it has second thoughts and mails it back to Filiberto, soon. Or that someone sees it and successfully urges them to do so. Whether prompted or unprompted, may the return of this special book to its rightful place in the Filiberto's albergue happen as soon as possible!

Maybe whoever took it will learn something about the pain of doing something seriously out of line, and the joy of ethical conduct. I hope so.

Wow. That's a pretty low thing to do.

I bet the person who took it didn't even give any thought to its significance to Filberto.

New Original Camino Gear Designed Especially with The Modern Peregrino In Mind!
Can the perpetrator really have been a pilgrim? If the theft didn’t weigh on the culprit’s conscience, surely the substantial dimension of the purloined book would have weighed on his or her back.

Lack of respect, that´s the Trend today, No respect for the people who work hard in the Albergues from the dawn till late at night, and for the Albergue Itself. Sometimes people think these are cheap places where you can do whatever you want, and if they don´t please you, You can ruin them in internet.

St James' Way - Self-guided 4-7 day Walking Packages, Reading to Southampton, 110 kms
What a shame, and sadly true, what arturo garcia has called a trend.
It's one of the things that is keeping me from booking another walk.

How terrible to read this news. I do not understand the desire to do that. Whoever took it, would it not be strange to have messages and well wishes NOT written to you, in your possession. Theft on the Camino seems alive and well and I do not just mean shops that up mark their items for sale. Come on, I am sure there are other Camino souvenirs that would be more meaningful to you personally than taking that book. He/she should have got journal and made their own similar book and get people they met to sign it. Ugh.

There are those who see fit to take the km markers as they travel the route. Why? Camino souvenirs probably.
