Things to ponder whilst walking

Hi - thought I would post up a few philosophical questions that one could ponder as one strolled along ...

1) What am I?
2) Why am I?
3) If I buttered the back of a cat which side up would it land?
4) What on earth is going on - what is this reality?
5) Where did I last put my glasses?
6) If animals could talk which one would be the rudest?
7) What would The Way film be like if they made it into a stage musical?
8) Could the Loch Ness monster be a swimming Giraffe?
9) Is it better to be nice or kind?
10) If the love of money is the root of all evil why do they ask for it in churches?
11) Would having a long tail, like a Kangaroo's, be better than a walking pole?
12) Would a Centaur get a Compostela?

Chris, I LOVE that observation! When I am walking behind others, I always check out their gear. I also frequently wonder ... how DID they do it?

Questions can be a way of filling in the time with a busy mind on a long walk. Much more fulfilling is to let them drop away and walk with the silence of a quiet mind, acknowledging the passing sensory inputs of the present moment. After some days or weeks your emptiness may give you a surprising gift. Who am I God and who are you?

As ever David, wonderful. Brought a huge smile to my face. Regarding the rudest animal, could well be my dog when I shoved her out in the rain just now if the look she gave me is anything to go by.

After walking for 32 days with by brain singing the first verse of Copa cabana on repeat my question was "does anyone know the second verse?"

Other musings were:
How many times have I said or heard Buen camino.?
I wonder if tonight's dessert wil be one of those small flans?
Are lights on the toilet designed to cause maximum disorientation by switching off after 7 seconds?
Has anyone ever actually beaten the light and made it out in time?
What would this person look like? Door bursts open, triumphant pilgrim falls into the bar area with coat tucked in underwear and hands still covered in soap.
And my most pressing (and strangely serious) question.. should I risk starting my Camino in the second week of the Easter holidays or wait till the following week.

A town on a hill is also far more defensible against invading Moors, etc... Just sayin...
