I have been working (with a developer) on this app for a while, and now it is out. Optional to use, of course, but it is free with no ads and it is there for those who are interested.
The app is very simple, it is a copy of WhatsApp/Messenger but only for the forum. You log in with your forum username and password and it is another way for you to keep connected with forum members.
It is iOS only for now (I ran out of donation money) but if I see that it is being used, I will make another version for Android once the cash situation gets better.

With this app you can:

Contacts – This is a list of your contacts. To be able to interact with a contact you need to add them here first (tap the "+"). Search for them by their forum username. They will only show up if they have logged into the app.
Conversations – Send Private messages to your friends. It is also possible to add more than one user to a conversation making it a group conversation.
You can share:
Chat Room – Create public chat rooms where all users of the app can see and participate.
Nearby Contacts – See a list of your contacts and how far away from you they are. (Less than 2km, between 2km and 5 km, ..) You only see the ones you have added in the “Contacts” section and they need to be “online” (have the app open at that moment) to show up.
Profile – Your avatar and username is the same as you use on the Camino Forum. You can set your status here.
