We are starting our Camino in April looking for recomendation for accommodation from Lisboa to Santiago. Any type just looking for places not to miss or places to stay away from. Would love to hear you experiences.

Technical backpack for day trips with backpack cover and internal compartment for the hydration bladder. Ideal daypack for excursions where we need a medium capacity backpack. The back with Air Flow System creates large air channels that will keep our back as cool as possible.

€83,-
Don't miss the Hotel Lusitano in Golega. The spa is pure bliss and the evening meal is exquisite. They also have a great wine list. You could even take an extra day there, like we did, and get in some riding.

Between Porto and Santiago, it will depend to a certain extent which of the several routes you take. If you are taking the central route, I recommend the Casa da Fernanda between Barcelos and Ponte de Lima. But there are only 14 beds (none bunks) and it has a good reputation, so it tends to be full. I advise reserving a few days in advance.

Are you thinking more about albergue accomodation or hotels?
Its a 3 years since I walked the Lisbon-Porto section but I do have some distinct memories
One of my favourite nights was at Alpriate leaving Lisbon - simple small albergue but there were 5 pilgrims we cooked dinner and chatted
I stayed at Quinta do Burro in Morgade (between Azambuja & santarem) as I tweaked my ankle - and found a great welcome (but not a place if you don;t like animals) and a good dinner
In Alvaizere - Albergaria Pinheiros - was a slightly odd set up but a unique stamp to say the least - and as I had really hurt my ankle I stayed a second night and they did check up on me! (I got the second night in the special single room named after Brierley)
Albergue Peregrinos St Antonio de Agueda was out of the town - but we had great fun cooking dinner in the kitchen (after a visit to Lidl supermarket a short walk away) - though I do remember the shower/toilets being airy (they are roofed but not fully walled in)
After Porto I walked in Janaury so my experiences were a little different

Not to miss between Lisbon and Porto: Donativo Albergue Casa Catolico in Branca, between Albergaria-a-Velha and Sao Joao de Madeira, about 50m south of Porto. Run by the Camino enthusiasts who've walked different caminos and now try to share their knowledge and Camino spirit with the wider world. Very welcoming place! They offer pilgrims single beds there (no bunk beds), dinner and breakfast for all pilgrims, have a lovely garden to relax in - one of the best place till Porto! https://www.facebook.com/CasaCatolicoBranca

I've walked different Caminos in Portugal and the country is always calling for more! :) Bom Caminho! :)

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.
You can have a look at the massive list of albergues, residencials, hostals, hotels, camping sites and lots more in the resources section. It covers both the coastal, the central, spiritual and the route from Lisbon->Porto. The places that have been recommended by pilgrims in here and from the two major Facebookgroups for Camino Portugues are marked by "Recommended" in the comments section.

I walked in July 2017 and the infrastructure on the CP was really growing, here are the ones that stood out for me:

AAN - muni (great garden, soft beds, good meal, kind owners helping 2 of us with policia & denuncia)
Porto - Sao Salvador (apartment with great older lady to greet you - port, baked goods, Porto souvenier)
Facha - Quinta da Portela (great garden, really good meal, pets & fruits everywhere)
Valga - muni (can't remember but I really liked it in my journal)

Hello, my friend of 50+ years and I are on our first Camino walk. We are looking for: 1) safe, comfortable hostels in Lisbon; 2) stages from Lisbon to Porto (via Tomar) in about 16 days...
