Low airfares

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

€46,-
I just booked a return flight on TAP from MIA to BIO for $564 for late May to mid June, this is half of what I have paid in past years.
I know! I flew TAP from Chicago to Lisbon last April. It was a great fare and I even got free luggage, dinner and a snack for a similar price. I recently booked Chicago to Madrid for $453 on Iberia. Several years ago fares were usually around four figures.

€2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.
Wow! Us Europeans are so lucky, its so cheap for us to get there. I just booked a 1-way Ryanair flight for €43... Dublin (IRL) to Biarritz. When we live so close, we tend to forget about the exorbitant costs others from around the world face to just get to the starting point.

Down bag (90/10 duvet) of 700 fills with 180 g (6.34 ounces) of filling. Mummy-shaped structure, ideal when you are looking for lightness with great heating performance.

€149,-
We Canadians are also very envious of those who live in Europe or places closer to the Camino. But somehow it seems to make the trip very valuable in many ways. Trying to get there and home seems part of the whole amazing journey. I did the trip over two separate times. I am going again to redo part of the Camino Frances in May and a portion of the camino primitivo from Lugo To Santiago.

We Aussies are so jealous of low fares for Europeans and North Americans. Ours start in the $thousands 😢.
Agreed Glenda.
But we grin and bear it. Just paid AU$1698 for.
[ Sydney/Rome. Rome-madrid. Madrid /Sydney ]
Next year (mar-apr 2020). These are ‘supposedly’ great fares here!! I have paid much more (only economy mind you) for straight rtn Sydney /Madrid in the past .
Nobody twisted my arm but I guess with price of fuel etc; I can’t complain.
Of course i could probably have done much better (I know Etihad has better prices at the moment from Oz) but I’m not a fan on flying double hrs to save $.

Lucky you @biarritzdon
You’d be crazy not to snap up those bargains.
Buen camino
And Happy Christmas

Wonderful
Sounds like good news all around here.
I know that a lot of things are said about Ryanair but one can't..usually...complain about their fares
I recently got a return from Stansted-Dublin for £29 ...then added a case to take on board as priority...total price..£39!! .. One of the trips was £9.99...even arrived 20 minutes early!
Then met with a fellow forum member for a few wonderful hours of chin wagging!!
I'm not complaining!
Best wishes
Annette

Flying from Miami (largest intercontinental hub near me) to anyplace in Spain in regular economy usually runs about 1,200 - 1,600 USD. But you typically must still pay for a seat selection and even to check one bag.

This year, like last week, I bought my r/t to travel to my 2020 to Camino in late April. The tickets cost me about r/t 1,000 USD in Premium Economy on Iberia. Those are the wider seats with great legroom in a smaller separate cabin from the rest of economy, where you can actually recline enough to sleep on the 8.5 hour flight over. Seat selection and 2 checked bags are included.

My routing on this trip included an "open jaw." My airports are MIA > MAD > SVA (Sevilla). Then on the return SCQ (Santiago) > MAD > MIA. Easy Peasy...

Then, a day later, I scored again, obtaining the same sort of deal, again on Iberia, but flying in peak season to volunteer for my month in July & August. Same basic routing: MIA > MAD > SCQ. The fare for Premium Economy, again in peak season, was 1,400 USD, round trip.

Yes, I know this is starting to get pricey. But an economy seat, where you must pay for a good seat and extra baggage was about 1,600. So, this is still a good deal.

I am price conscious, but I always balance the relative value. To me, these r/t fares, compared to what regular economy would have been, are only a little bit - like maybe 200 - 300 USD more. In return, I get a whole lot more comfort, convenience, and they actually treat more like a human. I have come to really like Iberia's cabin service.

As a large. stout fellow who has been traveling internationally for more than 40 years, I rate this as a good deal. As one who has sat in an economy seat for 23-hours from Washington DC to Bangkok on many occasions, trust me, this is a good deal.

The takeaway is to consider all airlines and route options. Flying TAP to Lisbon is brilliant as they connect to most larger cities in Spain as well. and BOOK EARLY, as soon as you nail your dates down.

See y'all out there...

Good to know. I paid twice that last week to fly on American airlines May -June because TAP had poor reviews.

That is why most folks from Australia, USA, Asia, New Zealand, etc. do the whole camino when we come. I wanted to do it all anyway, but if I lived in Europe I would love to do parts of the camino whenever I felt like it!!

Technical backpack for day trips with backpack cover and internal compartment for the hydration bladder. Ideal daypack for excursions where we need a medium capacity backpack. The back with Air Flow System creates large air channels that will keep our back as cool as possible.

It is off season right now and TAP has been shown to be the most economical airline out there since WOW Air died last year.

Once in Europe, bus and train costs are very rasonable.

I know what you mean GlendaMac. I'm from NZ and we have the same problem. I recently was advised (from Camigas - Buddy System for Women walking the Camino FB page) to check out iknowthepilot.com and rometorio.com sites. I've seen return flights Auckland to Paris (& also Barcelona) on iknowthepilot for just NZ$1069!!! Check it out.
