Last summer I started walking from home to Nidaros....first stamp at our church with the the two family graves.....
...congregation secretary bid me farewell with; « I suppose you walk back home aswell??»....as pilgrims did right?....put things in perspective...right there, right then....

St. Olavs Way ... from home ...

Technical backpack for day trips with backpack cover and internal compartment for the hydration bladder. Ideal daypack for excursions where we need a medium capacity backpack. The back with Air Flow System creates large air channels that will keep our back as cool as possible.

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.

Kia ora (greetings, thank you, good health)

I have spent most of my morning looking at the route. I have downloaded the maps and can see details for about half a day quite clearly. And I have ordered the guide book and pilgrims pass. Quite when I will get to your neck of the woods, though, I am not quite certain.

To get the "big" picture I use hiking.WayMarkedTrails.org. Not only on my bid desktop screen but also on my Android tablet. There I can see the route clearly from Sundsvall to the border. It has a unique trail marker, making it easy to follow.

But, after the border. hiking.WayMarkedTrails.org shows a riot of routes, none specifically marked St Olav's Way.

What would you suggest I do.

Hi AlwynWellington

Another NZer here!

I walked from Sundsvall to Trondheim in Septemer 2018. The waymarking across the entire way is superb, easily the equal of anything on the Camino. Yes, there are many pilgrim paths intersecting once over the border into Norway, but you will have no trouble following St Olavsleden. There is a choice v near Munkeby - the coastal route via Tautra Island, or slightly inland through the forest and past the lakes. Its all in the guidebook, and the online resources are excellent. you could post any other questions here, or start a new thread, and I'd be happy to attempt an answer.
