Hello, I walked CF in 2018 with my daughter. She's going back to walk the Norte in early summer, but only after spending time in Italy. She's going to either train or fly to Spain from Italy, and wondering best logistics for travel and luggage storage. Our initial thought is to fly to Madrid, and find a hotel that will let her store her large suitcase until she returns about a month later. or does the Madrid airport have secure storage facilities?

other thoughts?

Thank you!

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.

The hotel in Madrid is a good idea. Or she can mail her extra bag to Santiago, either to Casa Ivar or have it held at the post office in Santiago. In 2018 I mailed my suitcase to Ivar from Irun.

My limited experience is that Madrid hotels will only allow you to store luggage for about two weeks and only if you are staying in that hotel at the beginning and end of the two week period . I believe I saw a post this past year about long term storage available in Madrid but I don’t remember any of the details .

There are several places in Bilbao that store luggage (if she wanted to start the Norte there).

Hi - I've been waiting to book 2 June from Santiago dC to Madrid - finally the tickets are out! Funnily enough the luxury seats were cheaper than economy seats, so I took one.
