Here is another video from yesterday...

Thank you for sharing this clip with us - hardly recognising all the familiar spots - time for reflection and become aware all over again of the plight that our world is in right now. This is our Day 1 of lockdown and it is so quiet with only an occasional car passing by - for me the reality of lockdown has not really sunk in except for the news from my many amigos and the TV reports it all seems surreal. I am devastated at the loss of lives and the heartache those families must be experiencing. May our Lord have mercy on us and teach us to become more mindful of what we have taken for granted - I wish you all safety, love and gratitude.XXXXXBuen camino on this journey that we are all on now.

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
These are all very positive views of good lack of activity in the world. If this continues there is a better chance we will see positive result in the next few weeks.

Much better pictures than crowds on beaches and ski resorts.

This facebook post from Belfast, changed my view of the silent spaces completely:

"When you go out and see the empty streets... Don't say to yourself 'it looks like the end of the world', what you're seeing is love in action, what you're seeing... is how much we do care for each other....Take a moment... look at the emptiness, and marvel at all of that love. Let it fill you, let is sustain you..."

It is indeed sad to see public spaces so empty, and here in my hometown of San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato Mexico, all processions and special masses of Semana Santa have been cancelled... however, we still revel in the joyous sunrise bathing the Parroquia, and the purple pyrotechnics of the jacarandas all in bloom.B1C90170-EDA3-47F3-8094-AE71C3E7AAB7.jpegAB35093F-BA9A-4F2C-A77B-311BDE826ADD.jpeg1DCFAE9F-7FB7-4E7C-95EA-46538A7A9517.jpeg

Hello everyone, I've not added any posts for some time. Due to my knee problems, I have now seen my doctor and also the surgeon. The prognosis is: I need a new knee. Sadly for me, the waiting list is about one year. Not a problem. I can wait.

The reason for this new thread, and I hope Ivar reads it as it will require his help and input.
I have already purchased my camino shell, passport, guide books etc. But I wonder if it were possible for Ivar to have camino shells decorated, not with a red cross, but a black cross.
We could buy these and when this dreadful coronavirus is over, and able to walk our pilgrimage again, we could leave these scallop shells with the black cross throughout out journey, be it France, Italy, Spain, Portugal etc. as a tribute to those who have died because of the virus. We could hang them on trees, monuments, or anywhere else that we pilgrims would appropriate.
(It would also add a little income to this website during these dreadful times.)

God Bless you all, Rev Anthony Budell

I think the busses go as normal.. but the capacity is reduced to a third (think you have to sit with enough space between other passengers). There are some people that need to get to work.. supermarkets, hospital, ...
It is the same with us in the Netherlands. Smaller electric busses were driving in the old city center, but the rules have made them too small, so they no longer run. The other busses and trains all run an adapted service and often as needed. That works fine.
Stay safe and healthy 🙏

I was thinking exactly that when I watched Ivar’s video. Incredible effort for so many to do “what is right” so others may live. At the core of it is real love for ourselves and each other. We are the only ones who can get ourselves through to the other side of this. A bit of pain for a lot of gain. My heartfelt condolences to those who have lost family and friends through this time. May the silver lining shine brightly as soon as possible so people find the strength to hold fast and beat this thing that we cannot see but feel so acutely. Love to all❤🌈

Maybe the best Facebook post ever! Thank you kelleymac for sharing. So beautiful 🙏❤️

I was reading an article this morning about how air quality is improving in Manila. This could be the silver lining in the human tragedy of COVID-19. I would think that air quality is improving around the world with the reduction in combustion engine use.
