Lodging open during Corona virus lockdown in Galicia

€2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.
If there are some people out there still walking (I hope not), here is a list of all lodging alternatives that are allowed to stay open during the Corona virus situation.

The rest of hotels/albergues/pensiones will be closed.

Stay safe!

Fascinating, Ivar. Just wondering who decided what would be allowed to remain open. And who is expected to be using these facilities, if the country is on lockdown. I’m assuming that the predominance of apartment offerings is because it’s easier to keep things clean and uncontaminated that way.

Would it be possible for someone who lives in a city to rent one of these apartments to get away from the congestion and close quarters of city living?

I think these places are open to anyone that would like to stay there... I believe the Xunta has decided who will be open and who will close. They may have asked them in advance, not sure.. Roman Rodriguez (twitter link above) is the person that runs Tourism (including Xacobeo) in the Xunta.

I know hospital workers in Santiago are looking for a 2nd place to stay in case they get infected and need to go into quarantine (they do not want to be with their families if this happens).

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.

Me again, I just saw on the national news that these hotels are not open for the public but are only to be used by hospital personel... so it does not seem to be open for the public. This list was published today in the BOE and is decided by the government in Madrid. There are similar lists for the other regions in Spain.

Now I understand as it did seem odd that they are allowed to be open when others are not.

The Galicia Rail pass is available to anyone who completes the Camino and is awarded the completion certificate. It allows for 3 days of train travel and also discounts to other places you may...
Has anybody recently volunteered at the Pilgrim office for the 15 day timeframe? Where did you stay in Santiago?
For those who are in Santiago 🙏🏻
