For those looking for a little different virtual pilgrimage, "tobotobo aruku" has been uploading videos of the Shikoku 88 temple pilgrimage for the past six years. They have reached 245 videos, comprising 83 of the 88 temples, just today.

Since the channel contains the videos in reverse order and has a tiny handful of videos out of order, as well as unrelated videos, I have created a playlist of the pilgrimage for anyone who wishes to see it.

The most infamous walk, from temple 11 to 12, is in videos 13, 14, and 15 in the playlist.

Enjoy!

How wonderful @gschmidl 😊
I walked the full 88 Temples trail at this time in 2017 & have been following my progress each day. Today (19 April) I was enroute between Temples 27 & 28 in Kochi Prefecture.
This walk still remains my favourite of all I have undertaken. Not only is it forever in my heart & mind, it is also permanently etched on my body...something I never thought I'd do!
Thank you for the link & the chance to re-live the amazing experience.

Great, thanks for this. It will make great viewing over the coming weeks of what looks like to be extended lockdown here in Madrid. If I ever get to Japan one day, then I would like to experience some of the walks on these routes.

Gracious me! Those stages 11-14 look tough though the forests and steps and more forests and more steps; I was worn out just watching them! Reminds me so much of Galicia!
