I was poking around the Apple App Store looking for camino related apps and came across the app Camino Chat. I opened the descriptive section and below the title was a reference to Casa Ivar S. LO in light grey letters. So thinking this might be a good thing to download so I can keep up with this group and not need to sit at my desk while doing so I installed the app, it was free. After it completed installing I logged in using my credentials I use here.

Now the question(s). The app is empty. It has menu options for Conversations, Chat Rooms, Nearby Contacts, Contacts, and Profile. But each of them are empty. there seems to be no link to the topics in this group. So is it supposed to be this way? If so, what is the app to be used for? Does anyone have any information on it? etc. I would like mobile access to the group but am confused if this app is to be used for this or even what it is to be used for. It may not fit my requirements but I would like to know rather than just giving up.

Any help anyone has is appreciated.

@ivar will probably answer your questions about the app, tomorrow. However, I don't think it is in common usage.

I thought I'd mention how I follow the forum on my phone. On your phone, find the forum with your internet browser, click on "What's new" at the top, and then click on the phone's control such as "Add to Home screen". Then you have an icon on your phone that will take you to the new posts. (That is how I think it worked for me, but I don't know how other phones might work!)

I have tried that but the text is so small I can't see it and if I make it bigger I can't navigate. Yeah I know I am just too darn picky.

This is an app that I created a while back. It is iOS only (for now) and the idea is that it is a WhatsApp for the forum... you need to sign in with your forum username/password and can send messages to other forum members... right now I do not think it is used much, and with this year being like it is.. I am not sure if I will ever make an android version... just too expensive. But it is there for those who can and would like to use it.

Ivar,

Thank you for clarifying the intent of the app. It now makes sense for what I am seeing, or not seeing as the case may be. So in short it is an instant messaging app not an app for reading this site. I was hoping for the latter.

And thank you for driving this forum as you do. It is most informative, very helpful, and my go to place for all things camino. Stay safe and well.
