A reminder to withhold remarks regarding specific vaccine manufacturer’s
effectiveness or reactions. Reactions appear to widely vary on a personal basis and will have little validity from person to person.

Posting rumor or hearsay can be damaging and may discourage a forum member from taking an opportunity to get a vaccination.
Science advises us that the best shot is the one that becomes available to you.

I'm from Toronto and hoping the same thing. I thought perhaps to go in May 2022 but that's just too far away! September would be fabulous, as long as Spain will let Canadians in again. Fingers crossed. 😊
Hello fellow Torontonian!! Crossing my fingers and toes for the two of us to be vaccinated soon. My boyfriend (works in the supportive housing/shelter sector downtown) got his first dose of Pfizer yesterday. I work for a psychiatrist so while I'm not front of the line, I'm hoping my time is coming soon. We're still aiming to be in Lisbon for June 29th of this year... A little optimistic possibly? haha

I got my first shot yesterday, yay!! I immediately booked Orisson & Roncesvalles for September. What a feeling! :)

I got my first dose of the vaccine today and it’s just funny how euphoric I am. The restrictions associated with the measures due to COVID-19 didn’t have much of an effect on me because I live alone and am quite introverted, so I didn’t miss socializing. But CAMINO - I was really sad about that! I watched posts and photos on the forum, but sometimes it was almost counter-productive, it also happened that I had tears in my eyes when I looked at some photo. And now, after the first dose of vaccine, I have a similar feeling as ten years ago (2011) before my first Camino. Excited, happy, waiting for the conditions when and how it will be possible ... I'm going to look at my backpack right away😄

I always think that I don't care about socialising but I loved the Camino for exactly that reason, people happy to see you, shouting out to call you into a bar as you walked past.

Although I'm lucky to live in Covid free Western Australia, I'm excited to be getting my first vaccine today. They are just beginning on the over70s here. Hopefully the international flights will begin by the end of the year and I can get back to my beloved Spain.

Well, that was a wasted morning . After a hassle getting there and finding a parking place. I was told there was a computer glitch and they were not starting on the next level yet. Two friends who had appointments at a different hospital had theirs cancelled too.

It looks to me that you and I are at about the same place with this. I was informed that my age group was scheduled to sign up tomorrow for vaccination soon after. But when I checked on tomorrow's schedule, the online booking system is such a mess that upgrades will have to be done before anyone can sign-up. What have they been doing in the months that they waited for a vaccine supply?

Yes its a pain, Albertagirl, Unless its an excuse to hold off on the Astrazenica vaccine until they assess the clotting issues.

Got mine yesterday (Pfizer 1st shot) with no issues at all from beginning to completion. No problem scheduling on-line and the whole ordeal while at facility took 30 minutes (that includes the 15-mins post "self-check")
No problems through the rest of the day (had it at 3:00 pm) , very slight feel of the arm this morning, but so far so good.
2nd doze scheduled for April 12th (some people get the shot, and some to fly to space for the 1st time ever! ;) on this date)....

Still looks like matters not as (we all know) the news of Spain & France opening up are still remain not very encouraging 😢

Got my first shot today in Georgia, USA- Pfizer one. As of tomorrow, all adults are eligible and there are some sites where you can walk up without a pre-registration. Mine was drive up and arrival to finish was 9 minutes (then a 15 minute wait period in the parking lot. we are wide open with no restrictions. Businesses can request you wear a mask, but mask usage is waning quickly. Indoor dining is back to full capacity.

1200 new cases and 72 deaths yesterday in Georgia.

I was so happy to be vaccinated about 2 weeks ago. I got the Johnson and Johnson (it's what was available), so I am just about protected!

When you are all vaccinated - twice - please could you send a few left over jabs, that you don't require anymore, by cleft stick, down through Africa? ;)

Just kidding.

I think.

My sympathy,
As I wait in some anxiety for my own first vaccine, I can hardly imagine the anxiety of those who do not feel confident that they shall get theirs. Today, I made a donation through my church to help protect a clinic in southeast Africa against the virus. I don't know what is done at the clinic, but I hope that it will help some Africans to be safe and have their health issues cared for. One thing that a pandemic must teach us is that we are all in this together and no one is safe until all are safe.

This morning I got my first COVID-19 shot. I am concerned that the second shot, for me as an Albertan, is tentatively scheduled for four months from now. Present research does not support this length of delay for seniors. However, my province is slipping into a third wave, so the chosen process of getting everyone one shot as quickly as possible may save lives.

Received both doses; all vaccinated. In my county, they announced we have 75% of our seniors (ages 65+ vaccinated) and 25% of our adult citizens. Here in Florida, they are now offering shots to all ages 40+ and (starting next week) all ages 16+.

Got my second AstraZeneca shot on Wednesday.
I decided on the arm that I don't use for the computer mouse and that does make a difference! :)
It does hurt a little near where the needle went in, but because I use that arm less, I hardly notice it.

So, in a few days, when the vaccine kicks in, I'll be fully vaccinated and then the next phase starts, of trying to find out what 'fully vaccinated' actually means in everyday life.

Good luck, I had AstraZeneca first dose mid March, now 9 weeks later, healthy. Hoping to be offered my second AZ dose very soon given the supply has an expiration date.

Information is gradually coming in from research that the longer waits before second doses which vaccine shortages have forced upon us may ultimately result in better immunity. It may seem odd that so much basic information about the vaccines has only come to light so long after countries started to administer them. But I remember how many deaths occurred among the most vulnerable in the early stages of the pandemic. I am grateful that we have received vaccines which give initial protection, and many of us will soon be fully protected with a second dose. We continue to be concerned about the ongoing vulnerability of residents in poorer parts of our world.

Got my first jab yesterday... second one in mid June... flights booked Dublin to Biarritz for mid August for 5 weeks. Santiago here I come!

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.

Yes I was told I’d get my second dose 12-16 weeks after first but fortunately given most provinces are not going to give AZ anymore as a first dose, lots of AZ supply needs to be used up so hoping that means I’ll get a call for my second before 12 weeks. I’m confident with both AZ doses more hesitant about mixing at this time when the complete results from the very small UK mix vaccine study (n=800 very tiny study) are reported re efficacy.

The shot that was heard around the world!
Best news I've heard this week; That's one less person in the queue ahead of me... another billion or so to go. I don't think I've ever been in such a long line before. This must be what Sarria feels like.
I was a little over-optimistic. It turns out that there were almost two billion more people ahead of me in the queue, but I finally got my first shot of vaccine today. Four weeks from now, I will receive the second. What a relief.

I have some bad news, the world's population is some 7.9 billion! Although hopefully you will not be at the end of the queue.
