New Albergue in Monforte de Lemos

I just got a PM from a forum member notifying me of the opening of a new private albergue in Monforte de Lemos.

This establishment does not have a website and is available only through booking.

As Monforte is said to be the “official starting point” for the compostela minimum, this is very good news.

With the opening of an albergue in Puente de Domingo Flórez a few months ago, the Invierno is on a roll. Fingers crossed that Chantada soon gets one, because that’s a spot where lodging is very limited.

OMG you mention Chantada. I watched the Netflix series A sabor de mariposasa and liked the look of the regions geography for a potential place to live…..and there are properties for sale in Chantada. I’ll look again.

I'm tentatively (and with much hope) planning the Invierno for later in the summer, and was very excited to see news of both of these new albergues. I'll try to report back if I make it to them!

Very light, comfortable and compressible poncho. Specially designed for protection against water for any activity.

Our Atmospheric H30 poncho offers lightness and waterproofness. Easily compressible and made with our Waterproof fabric, its heat-sealed interior seams guarantee its waterproofness. Includes carrying bag.

€60,-

I hope this works out for you, Nadine!

I'm hoping/planning to walk the Invierno from León in October. Fingers crossed 🤞🎒
