One last accommodation spreadsheet for the road...

Hi, I'm Dave. You might know me from such accommodation spreadsheets as the "Camino del Norte," "Camino Primitivo," and "Camino Inglés & Mar." Before I log out of Google Sheets and board a plane for France in a few days, I have one last sheet to share.

Here is an extensive list of accommodations on the Chemin Le Puy / Via Podiensis. It includes the GR-65, of course, and also the Célé Valley, the Rocamadour variant, the Bonneval jaunt, and two different connecting routes between SJPDP and Hendaye.

Unlike the other lists, this spreadsheet is limited to contact info. (Since this is a starting point for a new guidebook, instead of updates on current ones, I'm asking for a ton of other details, all of which are more time-intensive to curate.) If you see a host's name and/or website, it means I've gotten a response and you can be confident that they're open and operational right now. I suspect most of the others are as well--I'm just waiting for first-hand info.

In any case, it's definitely a work in progress, but perhaps it will be helpful to some as they plan their 2021 pilgrimage from Le Puy.

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
Dave, you are the BEST thank you for all your efforts. I've never really used list of places and just wing it but will admit its due to my attention deficit and sitting down and figuring things out. This year I will be using them and thank you so much! As I walk the Le Puy I'll take notes and forward it if helps.

Thank you!

This is just what I was looking for - thanks - planning on an emergency Camino in the next few weeks. Does anybody know if the Miem Miem Dodo app up to date these days?

There is an existing thread on this subject

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.
By now you're out there happily collecting information. Bon Chemin, Dave, and merci for the info!

Voie de Nive...and...?
We walked the Voie Nive-Bidassoa in 2018.

Plenty of information here:

Yep, that one and the GR-10. Currently on my "tour de causse," having finished the GR-65 between Figeac and Cahors this morning, then continuing northward towards Rocamadour, and eventually circling back to Cahors on the GR-651. And then a couple of extra flourishes connecting Saint-Cirq-Lapopie and Bach, and then walking through Lalbenque and Lhospitalet. Lots to do around here!

What an itinerary. Collecting information is exhausting. 🙃

Ah. A high road and low road. It will be interesting to get your impressions!
I've been fortunate to do that part of the GR-10 a couple of times in the past. Love, love, love it. Can't wait to be back. Curious about the lower-level alternative.

in a word, no ... sadly, it has been discontinued ... at least for now, partly due to technical difficulties in getting it to work properly on multiple platforms and systems ... they will soon release electronic versions of their guidebooks ... but probably not the same efficacy as the app 😢

Thanks for the update. I am finding the book just fine. I got a copy in le puy. At least you can write on it! Mostly just french here on the le puy today! Half way between le puy and conques now.

Dave, I'm so slow...I didn't realize you were Dave who wrote the Cicerone book , with a partner, on the Norte, could not have done it without your book, loved it and a huge fan! When you mentioned the "spreadsheets" above, I've never used them until now. If you make it through Ainhoe on the GR 10, will you go buy the bell tower and kiss on the Town Fluzzy Mimi for us? We wouldn't have found her if you had not taken your students on that part of the GR 10... I called this morning to make sure she is still around and she is they said. Next months Le Puy to Santiago might lead us up there just to see her!!!

I'll be there in five days! Will do my best.

Technical backpack for day trips with backpack cover and internal compartment for the hydration bladder. Ideal daypack for excursions where we need a medium capacity backpack. The back with Air Flow System creates large air channels that will keep our back as cool as possible.

€83,-

Dave the tourist office knows her, has a bed for her and food :) If you go there tell them we said hi , and kiss MiMi for us...if you sleep in the Bell Tower she'll probably curl up to you, but be forewarned the next day when she's lounging in the sun she'll look at you like she never met you. She is after all "the town floosie/floozie/floozy " - lol

I am fine tuning my packing and I pre package my vitamins/supplements to take daily, which I have done for about 15 years. Do you all take them with you, or leave them home? 36 days of vitamins...
Dear fellow pilgrims! :) I hope to walk from Le Puy to Santiago later this year. I was thinking about starting at some point in august so that I manage to reach Santiago before it gets too cold...
Hey! Thinking about walking Le Puy this year. I am a solo female traveller. On my previous Camino (Spain) I stayed in municipal albergues, but this time I would like to try something...
