Hi there all. At last I have €20 in my PayPal account , as promised , I would like it to go to a struggling Albergue.
I have only ever supported one Albergue and that an unofficial Albergue in all these 20 camino years.
I keep thinking of Ovideio and San Anton and Acacio y Orietta , the 'labour of love' Albergues along many others where , clearly , it is not about the money ,even Tomas if is still with us .A while back we did have a plea to support.
So the Municipals have support , some preferred Albergues do not even answer the phone and bless the Church as I feel they are helping and I am stating this with NO malice. Without the Catholic Church my caminos would never have been the same. Any Ideas Members?

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
Some of the smaller and more vulnerable Albergues are closed either temporarily or permanently, whereas Ivar is probably not the best person to ask about this specific question.

Probably the best person on the forum to advise you for your generous plan would be Rebekah Scott.

I feel that the ones that "survived" are open now... the ones that has not opened by now, might have decided to close for good. But this is how I see it from Santiago... I have not been out on the camino and seen what is going on there...

For example, the "Last Stamp" albergue in Santiago has not opened...same paper in the window that they put when this started a year and a half ago. No activity inside. My guess (I do not know this) is that they have closed down... Sending them help now is most likely too late.

Very light, comfortable and compressible poncho. Specially designed for protection against water for any activity.

Our Atmospheric H30 poncho offers lightness and waterproofness. Easily compressible and made with our Waterproof fabric, its heat-sealed interior seams guarantee its waterproofness. Includes carrying bag.

I have been an hospitalero in this albergue. It one as you describe "labour of love" type and is one that may or may now be in need but the act of donating would be a boost for the spirit of this type albergue as they refuse nobody and do much for any pilgrim. And if you emailed the manager, she would direct you to an albergue in more need if the spirit guided her. You might know it as it is well known on the camino for it's distinctive character. The albergue in Granon about 30-50 ks before Burgos.
Here is the contact "Marina". Marinasaiz@ hotmail. This is a great gesture. Peace.

What a sad image that conjures up. I have stayed at that albergue 3-4 times on past Caminos.
Not to convey doom or gloom, but sometimes I wonder if the Camino, specifically the Frances, will ever be as it was during the boom the Frances had for about fifteen years or so prior to the pandemic? For every boom, there's always a bust they say. I hope this is not the case.

I am one of Rebekahs and Paddy's most ardent admirers with their 'Peaceable' , I had just wondered whether there were some albergues on the brink? Due to my many years as a forum member , I asked the boss , Ivar.

St James' Way - Self-guided 4-7 day Walking Packages, Reading to Southampton, 110 kms
I am following a young woman in the Camigas groups of FB who is walking solo and posting daily on the Frances and although she did not stay at San Anton, she did stop in there for a cool drink and all was up and running. She was amazed at their hospitality. She is staying primarily in private albergues that have private rooms, although occasionally she is in shared accomadations.

Down bag (90/10 duvet) of 700 fills with 180 g (6.34 ounces) of filling. Mummy-shaped structure, ideal when you are looking for lightness with great heating performance.
