Hi,
A couple of days into our Portuguese Camino. Finally got our boots back on ground after rescheduling or 2020 Camino to 2021.
Seems quiet, although this is our first time doing the Portuguese Camino.
Swapped boots for Hoka running shoes this time, lovely thick supporting sole and so far so good. Wife using similar combination with Nike trainers.
Covid situation is ok, compliance to mask wearing, vaccine passports etc is good.
Flying out wasn't the nightmare I'd imagined so we are just settling in to our daily routine and enjoying the journey. Happy to help anyone with queries, we are currently in Barcelos, walking approx 20km/day going off route to interesting sites and avoiding some of the busier stretches of road where we can. We are using private hotels for accommodation, but calling in at some Hostels for passport stamps.
Happy to help with any queries on way.
Bon Camino.

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
Hi Sue, walking central Camino, going off route where we can to interesting places. In Balugaes tonight, swam in river Neiva this afternoon by Ponte das Tabuas very nice after a hot walking day.

Technical backpack for day trips with backpack cover and internal compartment for the hydration bladder. Ideal daypack for excursions where we need a medium capacity backpack. The back with Air Flow System creates large air channels that will keep our back as cool as possible.

Normal camino knees, then? I like the bench arrow, that would be hard to miss (unless, of course, the bench was full). Enjoy the next leg of your camino. I've now booked my flight to Porto, can't wait.

How is your camino going? Are many of the alberges open on this route? I'm considering doing it in November but am concerned that there may not be much cheap accommodation available.

Hi Mala,
Picked up Compostela today, walked into SDC last night. Had a great time, met many interesting and friendly people on The Way from all over the World. Some were in Albergues, some private rooms, some in hotels with luggage transfer. No one went without a bed, even turning up late afternoon in towns a bed was found. But, Most people are booking private rooms ahead due to Covid situation. But Albergues are not using bunk beds, even if there is bunks in room only one person occupied the entire bunk. Camino is busy, we walked Portuguese Way and are now touring (by car) Galicia. Many pilgrims on French Way. November might be good if you plan properly, check weather & accomodation. I think 2022 will be a crowded Camino.
