I need to bus around this area for time sake. I do not want to miss the Cruz de Ferro. This is the only way I am able to do it. Does anyone have any information about how would one go about this? Rome to Rio not helpful…
Thanks 🙏

I just checked and it does involve a taxi " on demand " from Santa Colomba de Somoza ( Cruz de Ferro ) to Rodrigatos De La Obispalia and then bus to Cacabelos.
If financially possible I would take the taxi for the whole route.
Good luck!

Sherry,
You might consider hitching on route LE 142 to Ponferrada and then taking the bus to Cacabelos.

If you walk past Cruz de Fero a couple of KM to Refugio de Manjarin, you can call a taxi. I remember when I was there in a snowstorm in 2016 that he had the taxi number posted and pilgrims were being picked up. I think they had to taxi to the Ponferrada bus station to go to Cacabelos.

€2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.
Just checked Gronze this refugio is closed. You can still call the taxi service and use it as a pickup point.
Good point…. Probably best advice is to get the taxi number from whenever she is staying the night before.

Ideal pocket guides for during & after your Camino. Each weighs only 1.4 oz (40g)!
Use you cell phone to snap a photo of posted taxi numbers in bars and on sign posts and bulletin boards. I've even seen small posters with taxi contact numbers attached to trees.

Hi - I've been waiting to book 2 June from Santiago dC to Madrid - finally the tickets are out! Funnily enough the luxury seats were cheaper than economy seats, so I took one.
