Starting a "camino" walk from Rome

3rd Edition. More content, training & pack guides avoid common mistakes, bed bugs etc
I am wondering if anyone has any information to share on walking from Rome to Santiago? Thank you. :)
I walked a combo of the Pilgrims Way to Canterbury starting in London & then the Via Francigena all the way to Rome in 2019.
IMHO, the simplest way for you to reach SdC commencing in Rome, would be to walk the VF in reverse to a point in France & then 'transfer' over to the Camino & start at Le Puy, a route which is way marked it's entire length to SdC.
Walking the VF in reverse shouldn't pose too many problems (especially through Italy) with good map-reading & navigational skills...although you may get a stiff neck from constantly looking over your shoulder for the reassurance of markers aimed in the opposite direction!
Best wishes for your undertaking, sounds fascinating...I hope you'll post of your plans/experience on the Forum. 🤗
Happy trails.

I walked Rome to Santiago in 2012.

PM me your email and I will send you my "as walked" itinerary
Hello Pilgrim, I am interested in the walk from Rome to Santiago also. Have done the Camino Frances and Camino del Norte. If you don't mind, may I get your "as walked" itinerary also. It is hard to actually find something for many of the walks on line that are outside from starting in France or Spain. Please PM me. Many Thank you's in advance,

As @jungleboy said - why not share itinerary info here where everyone can benefit from it?

Just FYI - if you want to send a private message to another member just hover your mouse over their name (on a phone/tablet tap on their name). You will then get this pop-up - choose "start a conversation" to send the private message.
