Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

Travelers from anywhere in the world who present a valid vaccination certificate, with full vaccination against COVID-19 with the use of an approved vaccine, do not require an essential reason to travel and are exempt from quarantine requirements. Vaccinated travelers are subject to systemic antigen or PCR testing on arrival. Exemptions also apply to travelers who have received a vaccine booster after a one-dose vaccine.

You can get a COVID-19 test in Paris, Madrid and Santiago or in other towns on the Camino https://www.synlab.com/coronavirus-tests

If you test positive in France and you are fully vaccinated (with the booster, required for the COVID certificate, you must isolate for 7 (full) days after the day symptoms started or the day they tested positive.

If you come into close contact with a positive person and are fully vaccinated (booster required for the COVID certificate) you no longer have to quarantine.
However, you must:
strictly adhere to protective measures, particularly wearing a mask inside and outside; and limit contacts with others
Additionally, you must do an antigen or RT-PCR test as soon as you find out that you are a close contact, then a self-test on day 2 and day 4 after you were last in contact with the person who tested positive. Where to buy home test kits. https://www.thelocal.fr/20220110/co...france-how-to-use-where-to-find-and-how-much/

If a self-test is positive, it must be confirmed by an antigen or RT-PCR test. (PCR tests costs ± €44)
If this test is positive, you are infected and must isolate. Some insurance companies have a list of vaccination facilities, some hotels have dedicated rooms for positive guests who are tested positive while staying with them, and the Dept of Health will also advise you on where to isolate – at your own expense.

Useful. Thankyou.

Apart from entry requirements, which are mutable by nationality and situation and origin and means of travel into the country, and still week-to-week, the incoming vaxx pass mandate will prevent pilgrims from entering bars or restaurants if they are unjabbed, except if locally an individual owner might not insist upon it, and/or local police don't care.

Such requirements do not however exist for staying in albergues, gîtes, hotels, or other pilgrim accommodation.

As to crossing the France/Spain border on foot, it's basically non-problematic.

The media suggests over half a million new cases in one day yesterday! I live in France and yes I have friends who have tested positive for Moronic - oops I mean Omicron - but none have been any more inconvenienced than a couple of days with flu-like symptoms. Please note I am not making light of Covid. Just telling you how it is here on a day to day basis in my neck of the woods. Make of it what you will but I wouldn’t let it put you off starting your Camino. Just remember that the French are hot on vaccination passes and mask wearing and you are unlikely to get access to restaurants, bars etc if you don’t comply.

Do you know when the booster is required? I just finished my initial vaccine.

The booster is required if you are more than 270 days past your last dose of the initial vaccine.

This is from the TravelSafe Spain website - requirements for those coming from the US. You can check the website for requirements from your particular country.

Yes great information from you. Very helpful. I was actually referring to France but did not make that clear at all. My apologies. Thanks again for your information. A great piece of information that will help the pilgrims plan better.

The skyscanner link that @sillydoll posted above seems to have up to date info with links to official government sites.

Here is new information published 21 January in French re rules/regulation as of 24 January for travel between France and Spain.

Do I need a vaccination pass to travel between Spain and France?

By Maréva Laville Posted on January 17, 2022 Updated on January 21, 2022

The health pass officially changes to a vaccination pass in France, from January 24. This complicates things a bit for expatriates who would like to return home. Will they be able to get on the bus, take the train? Manual.

Trains, planes, buses and even carpooling. Interregional transport in France is subject to the vaccination pass. The only exception is reserved for compelling reasons, family or health. In these cases only, a negative test will allow access to these transports. But to cross the border, there are differences.

A European QR code

The health pass has two codes. One for activities, the other for borders. The first will turn into a vaccination pass, and will apply the new validity periods (seven months until February 15, then four months to do its reminder). The European certificate, used to cross borders, is still valid up to nine months after its last dose.
Since January 17, negative antigen, PCR or self-tests are no longer enough to enjoy activities, or travel on certain transport. From the age of 16, the age of "vaccination freedom", all French people will have to justify their full vaccination. From 12 to 15 years old, the health pass will still be required.
For more convenience, the QR code received during the last vaccination can be added to the French TousAntiCovid application. Once the code has been scanned, the certificate can be used for activities and for borders. Surprisingly, the one dedicated to activities is essential for certain transport, crossing the border.

By bus: no boarding without a vaccination pass

In particular, you will have to show your credentials in the coaches departing from or heading to Barcelona. “Passengers from Spain to France will need to present proof of vaccination, converted to European format,” says Charles Billiard, communications officer at Flixbus. No Flixbus routes exist within Spain. Travelers leaving from the Iberian Peninsula therefore necessarily go to France. And that is also accompanied by the application of French measures.
Same story with competing buses, BlablaCar. Whether the departure is in France or Spain, the vaccination pass will come into effect, as the health pass had been before. It will be checked before boarding.

By train: obligation for journeys in France

The question still remains unanswered concerning the rail. According to the legislative text, the vaccination pass will be in force on long train journeys, said the Minister of Transport, Jean-Baptiste Djebbari. But on the question of a mandatory presentation for boarding, the SNCF is still awaiting instructions from the ministry.

The plane and the car are not affected

Flying to France will not pose the problem of the vaccination pass. It only applies to flights within France. Between the Iberian Peninsula and France, the way is therefore free, subject to having the European certificate, i.e. the health pass that we already know. Proof of vaccination, negative test, or recent Covid will therefore suffice.
When the car, the steering wheel can be serenely taken. No vaccination pass request is applied for this mode of transport.
