I need to leave a very small bag (about half the size of a carry on suitcase) in Madrid for up to 17 days. I am having no luck with hotels I’ve asked. Has anyone else done this in Madrid and if so, could you please share the name of the hotel? (I’m only walking a section and I’m not going to Santiago so Ivar’s storage isn’t an option. ) Thanks!

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

€46,-
I was able to get my hotel to allow me to mail a bag ahead to them where I would be staying when I left. I paid a fee per day for the me to hold it. It was the AC Hotel Coslada near the Madrid airport with an airport shuttle.

Thanks!!! Do you remember about how much the fee was?

€2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.
A suggestion; use Booking.com to search.
Enter Madrid & your dates & then use the filters to set a budget, rating etc & further add 'luggage storage' to help whittle down the options.
Of course you don't have to actually book through B.com but it will give you accom names & addresses with a map to see if the location suits.
Good luck. 🤗

I don’t see an option anywhere to add my own filter for “luggage storage” - I only seem to have their selection of filters to choose from…

Yes sorry, that filter option has disappeared....I wonder if that's a Covid related issue.
You could still use B.com applying the filters to suit but instead choose a hotel & then look at the 'facilities' section to see if luggage storage is listed; a bit more work but will yield results.
I entered fake dates & chose a few results at random & luggage storage was listed in each case. It also states whether there's an additional fee.
A trick of mine has been to book the same hotel at the beginning & end of a trip. I've found places to be more willing to store luggage if you have a repeat booking. Of course, that was pre-Covid...
Best wishes.

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
My friend and I stayed at Hostal Delfina in 2017. She only walked to Logroño, and Hostal Delfina held her luggage for her for the 11 days that she was gone. It was comfortable and in a good central location.

In 2017, we left 2 pc of luggage for over a month at Hotel Agumar, which is within walking distance of Atocha train station. We had stayed the previous night at this hotel. The cost was practically nothing . Of course, that was ages ago AND before COVID. Good luck...buen Camino!

Hi! You can leave your luggage at the main train station in Madrid … I’ve done this before … I went to Morocco for 4 days, I just took back pack and left my luggage .. I just can’t remember how much I paid .

I can't recommend any of them personally, but I do see several luggage storage options online. Most are more expensive than we paid in 2018 though.

Someone suggested Blue Space. I called it was about $80/mos. Cheaper than luggage storage companies. We are staying in Airbnb in Madrid when done so hotel storage not an option.

Just FYI - if you are thinking that this is a hostel with bunk beds, it is not. It is a hostal with private rooms and private baths.

Stay at the Hotel Europa and they will do it.

With bookend stays, the Best Western near Gran Vía will hold bags. There is a daily charge though.

Do you remember how much they charged? It looks like a great little hotel!

We stayed at the Hostal Persal on Plaza Santa Ana in 2018 and 2019. Both times we left two suitcases free of charge there for about 6 weeks. I booked directly through their website and then emailed to confirm that we could leave luggage there. Great location, especially if you can get a room overlooking the Plaza.

Very light, comfortable and compressible poncho. Specially designed for protection against water for any activity.

Thanks for the help, everyone! I’m case it helps anyone else, I wanted to let people know that the hotel Axel Feria has both a free shuttle from the airport and free luggage storage. Thanks

Thanks, that is good to know.

I've stayed at Hostal Bruña often (C. de Moratín, 50, 28014 Madrid - +34 914 29 47 01), and from the beginning, when I assured them I would stay there when I picked up my bag, they didn't charge me anything. And the Cafe Bar Roda, across the street, has great, inexpensive breakfasts!

Technical backpack for day trips with backpack cover and internal compartment for the hydration bladder. Ideal daypack for excursions where we need a medium capacity backpack. The back with Air Flow System creates large air channels that will keep our back as cool as possible.
