What a wonderful day to start our Camino. We left OSM this morning at 09:00 in perfect weather, 50/10 when we left, 65/17 +/- in Sarrance with partly cloudy skies (pouring now at 21:00). Words to the wise, do not be fooled by this short stage...

I'm not the OP, but thank you for your comment. I had already dowloaded mapy.cz, but was a bit lost finding trails on their website to download. Your comment makes me realise it is a lot simpler than that! Interesting you used Léguevin as an...

I recommend mapy.cz which is a map app with all the GR and camino routes, in France at least. Download the app and as an example, search for Léguevin (small town west of Toulouse). Zoom in and you will see which of the dark red lines is the Voie...

Hi Stephen Neil from Australia here. We will also leave from Toulouse, but go via Lourdes and SJPP. I have the Buen Camino app, which covers the Chemin d'Arles amongst many others. I'm yet to use it on the road, so no idea of accuracy etc...

I average about 3-5km per hour. I could probably walk a little faster but I would rather be slow and comfortable than fast and uncomfortable. I prefer a maximum distance of 20km per day to accommodate my slow pace.

I was also pleasantly surprised to find this route listed on Godesalco, which also includes accommodations, which I hope to test out this fall https://godesalco.com/plan/piemont

I am a very generous person. Alway have been. … but I get annoyed by people who can pay and won’t. Sure we have all been on the ‘free city tours’ that last a few hours and seen the couple with the designer clothes and the expensive camera offer...

If accommodation is tight, we might mostly avoid staying in "stage end" locations is all. Hard to say though, some days we may feel like a bit of rabble rousing (dinner and a bottle of wine) in a busy town, others we may feel like a quiet night...

You have given me a horrible realisation - perhaps the Brierley and Gronze stages are not the same? I have used the latter for my planning, and will carry the former. They are the same up to Pamplona at least, I had best have a quick comparison...
