Can confirm you just buy the tickets on the bus - in fact it's not possible to reserve seating ahead of time. There is a ticket office in Salamanca (not always open) but it seems to be massicot for people wanting to buy a 40-trip subscription...

Wow.
I did the same. We had a quick pub afternoon it to eat and then just rocked up to the Albergue. The Mayor and let us in and afterwards we headded down to the pub for dinner as a group. Was a crazy day, we all sort of bonded over the tornado... -
