I do the same, it is certainly not expected but often welcomed. It is unlikely you will ever see locals doing it (not that is a negative per se) as it is not expected by the bar owners. Well done to you though as it's a very thoughtful gesture... -

In Llanberis in north Wales there is (or was) an outdoor shop run by a Kiwi. He had a small basket of metal spikes which was labelled "tint pigs".... :cool: -
There are many existing threads on this Forum regarding this subject. It all depends on what time you arrive at CDG, then consult the train schedules.

Have usually found the good old ensalada mixta as a starter on such delightful menus…but as @Sacha says, the iceberg lettuce (no political quips from other Brits, pls) does wear a bit thin quite quickly
