My wife and I walked from Ourense to Santiago on the Sanabres at the end of September, beginning of October 2018. Wonderful walk. Quiet for pilgrims and days filled with multiple bridges, a monastery, glorious vistas and shady vines. Great memories.

Consider the bla bla car service as an alternative. As you can see it’s reasonably priced, and you’ll have an opportunity to chat to a Spaniard in a convivial circumstance.
As an anglo-Welsh Celt, agree with the disdain. Not pleased to see such poor judgement in an individual. Afraid I don’t have the means to remove it. I wish I did. Crazy Kim should seek help! (Photo:Past Villafranca, before Trabadelo)

Take the free bus from outside the theatre to Hipercor, which has a Decathlon next door. Alternatively there are a couple of Base stores, one being a short walk from the bus station.

Here are my Meindl Borneo full boot with calf leather inners, after +/- 1000kms of camino walking in between May and July 2012...couldn't fault them! But it's all in the preparation - bedding in and then good management of your feet; and not forgetting your socks! Liner and thicker sock, stop...
