Hello fellow crafter, I knew there would be a few of us. It will be so lovely to get some local fibre and agree it's so nice to know the provenance of where your fibre comes from right down to the animal. We run workshops and include meeting and cuddling our alpaca's - which everyone just loves...
I'll look forward to the updates. I hope it all goes well for you and that you'll trust more things will be ok. I also don't want to be defined by my illness, and just want to do something amazing like this so that it doesn't rule my life.
I'm thinking I can't be the only crafty pilgrim, so would like to know what crafty type shops you've discovered along the Camino France, particularly from Leon to Santiago as that's where we'll be walking. A farm visit too would be wonderful if you know of one, just to see what other sheep...
That's so funny, what doesn't Aldi sell when I need it. Last year we needed a wheelchair - suddenly Aldi had them in for a week. Guess I'm off to Aldi to get me some trekking pants and vests and jackets.
I live your idea of the Camino, we were going to start in Leon and walk to Santiago, but now I'm thinking your way sounds really good. I might reconsider our journey.
Hey Doug, wishing you a speedy recovery from a cold and wintry Oz. It's probably cold and miserable back in Auckland too. So I hope that they have you near a window where you have a view of beautiful sunshine and you can imagine that lovely warm air.
All the best
So sorry for your loss and condolences to your niece and family.
I too agree with your sentiment and that's why I am doing the Camino next year. I had wanted to do it, but my husband doesn't "get it" and isn't Catholic, so i shelved my plans. It became complicated regarding money and competing...
Margaret, the pacer poles look very interesting, especially the hand grip. It looks great for downhill, but was it comfortable and supportive for up hill?
Sorry to bombard you with questions, but I really live hours away from testing out poles.
Margaret, I'd love to hear more about your poles. Whilst I'm a bit younger than you, I have fibromyalgia and some spinal issues, so want to walk with good supportive poles. I'm trying to get as many opinions as I can before buying some. I live in a small country town, so trying them out in...
Thanks Marbe2, I think we'll have to use the other service for a few days before we arrive in O cebreiro.
Unfortunately we are restricted of when we can leave home due to my daughter's final university exams - which then obviously affects when we start the Camino. We will be leaving home the...
Thanks It56ny, that's quite handy. We'l be just booking day ahead I think as we will need to for transfers and also as going into November many places are closed. I'll download apps you suggested.
I have absolutely no Spanish skills at all, but will chance ringing just in case we can...
Thanks Marbe2. I've just checked our dates and don't think we'll make O cebreiro by November 1st. Do you know of another company that does transfer throughout the year.
Great to hear they help with luggage, as my daughter is not meant to carry or lift weights, so I'll be sure to ask as it will...
Thank Jimliz83, I'd be really interested to hear how you go and any tips you might have.
My husband is quite worried, but I'm trying to reassure him (and me) that 15 km days, with rest days already planned, loads of pain meds and my usual 3 to 4 hours in bed should hopefully ward off big...
